Is Drowsiness a Low-T Symptom?

Is drowsiness a symptom of low testosterone?

The reason that I ask is that my doctor has been evaluating me for the possibility of low testosterone. I’m having my tests repeated and will see the doctor again next week due to inconsistencies in my test results.

I frequently see “fatigue” and “brain fog” cited as symptoms of low testosterone (among many other illnesses, such as low thyroid). For me, drowsiness encompasses elements of both as I frequently experience fatigue and brain fog in spite of getting plenty of rest.

For instance, I woke up at 9:20 this morning and immediately ran four miles on a treadmill before breakfast. However, after breakfast, I became so sleepy that I laid down in bed for a while; in spite of this, I could not sleep any more. All day long, I have felt somewhat drowsy, foggy, and unfocused.

I want to know if these types of symptoms are likely indicative of low testosterone. I understand that “fatigue” and “brain fog” can be low-T symptoms, but what about drowsiness?

Yep… part of “fatigue.”

Absolutely, yes. In my case this was the most obvious issue.

I am having the same issue. Fatigue (always tired, drowsy, cranky) however you want to explain it, is my biggest problem with low T. I don’t really have the lack of sexual side effects, except no morning wood.

Keep us posted!

Yes, I sleep 8-10 hours per night and still doze all day at my desk at work.

TBltruck89: Likewise! I can sleep 6 hours or 10 hours. I still wake feeling like I hadn’t slept at all. I can workout, but it’s like climbing Everest every time. I miss my energy. I miss my endurance.

It’s nice to know that others do feel this way. So many posts talk about lack of sexual desire or ED. Not many complain of low energy (at least not often)

Yup, fatigue is a symptom of low testosterone…and about 839432962969284 other possible diseases as well.

Point being, you have no idea if your T is low…so get the blood tests done to confirm and do your due diligence before jumping to conclusions.
