I’m not your lawyer, your Dad, your civics teacher, or whoever the fuck let you down. There’s no state in this country where shoving a woman up against a wall and trying to shove your hand up her skirt isn’t sexual assault. It’s assault and battery too, if that simplifies things. Better you learn that here than in court.

I was hypothetically propositioned rather politely with a slew of innuendoes by a warrant officer right after bootcamp while we were alone in a room over 20 years ago. I hypothetically turned him down equally politely and he understood but I still hypothetically felt afraid and a little violated. He was a great guy, though. Hypothetically.
As for sexual assault, lots of girls and guys have grabbed my ass over the years when I was in the clubbing scene. Didn’t give a shit.
Had to go to a gay club a couple of times because I was doing a small ad project for the owner and that was where I got my ass grabbed the most times relative to the time spent in any other place.

I’m saying there’s a low chance that she was sexually assaulted, and that I believe the chance she doesn’t know the difference between sexual assault and harassment is greater than the chance that she had a guy push her up the wall and try to stick his hand up her skirt. I believe she’s either lying altogether, or that she was more likely sexually harassed. I don’t believe someone pushed her up against a wall and tried to shove his hand up her skirt.

Much appreciated, and I assure you the regulars here aren’t dicks about things like these regardless of which end of the political spectrum they fall on. The conversations in this thread need to be read within the context that politics and politicians who have previously displayed several acts of dishonesty are involved and making claims they can’t back up.

If she had gone with “someone grabbed her ass in a crowded club and it felt like he was working his way up her skirt before she reacted”, it would be more credible and still count as an assault and battery. I can believe that. Lots of women AND men have had that happen to them. It’s still fucked up, though. But since it’s so common I would give her the benefit of the doubt.

You’ve mastered a language I take for granted. I’d be surprised if your grammar isn’t better than mine. I’d be surprised if you don’t understand better than I do that language matters.
What I responded to was dick language. I don’t believe it was sarcasm and she’s far from the most dishonest political figure in this country’s recent history.
I was young, but it was during my lifetime, when people could talk about “niggers” or “faggots” casually in social settings, because it was assumed that the people present felt the same and were ok with that. I don’t know where you’re from, or what the word would be for you, but I’m sure there was one. And I’m also sure you deserve more respect than that.
I don’t see how the exchange I responded to is very different.
All my education from secondary level was in English although I never spoke it at home and rarely amongst my friends until university. Still, much appreciated.

I think that ALL politicians need to be held to a higher standard when they make ANY form of claim that they can’t back up. Sexual assault shouldn’t be an exception. That’s the point. They can lie about things that move markets and start wars etc. Why would it be surprising that one of them can lie about being sexually assaulted?
