My name is Aashay and I wanted to know if a combination of whey and milk/yogurt would be a good protein option for my day’s 1st meal and a pre-workout meal.
I get up at 7 am and have my first meal at 8 am.
*1/2 scoop whey(12 gm protein) + 200 gm Yogurt.(9 gm protein).
I consume whey + milk/yogurt with the idea that it will give me an anabolic and an anti-catabolic effect until the next meal which is at 11:30 am.
*1/2 scoop whey(12 gm protein) + 300 ml milk (9 gm protein)
I would like to know if this protein combination is a good option I have chosen helping me with the idea I have stated above.
Also, I am a lacto vegetarian. (Dairy products + protein supplements are my only 1st class protein option) Will be waiting for your valuable suggestions.
Thank you for the reply. Well, my daily requirement is 120 grams.
I have 6 meals/day. Distribution of first class protien is around 30 gms/meal.
My protien options are limited to eggs, cottage cheese/dairy products and whey.
My first meal is @9am and the second is at 1230.
Don’t have the time for a quick protien bite in between.
So my idea was to mix 300 ml of cow’s milk (9gm protien) with 1/2 scoop whey (12gm protien) which will give me a combination of fast and slow absorbing protien thus repairing & preventing muscle breakdown until my next meal.
So I wanted to know if this is a good idea!
Cottage cheese is a pure form of caesin protein (slow digesting) so you can try that too. But curd +whey protein is also a good option and it tastes good too (provided your protein shake tastes good)
