i heard on the radio and saw on tv a new reality show shot in iraq? is this true? when is it on and what station thanks. ALso opinions on it?
There’s a new fictional drama series on FX, but that’s all I’ve heard of.
Yeah, it’s kind of like “Fear Factor” but will be called “Pucker Factor”. Some of the challenges include driving from downtown to the airport, standing in line outside a police recruiting station, and walking around with a US flag decal on your jacket. The survivor wins.
Just watched it, “Over There” on FX. Fictional series. The show was actually decent. As a Iraq vet and current soldier,
I can say that the show looked pretty good. I noticed a few minor inaccuracies but clothing and uniforms were on.
Of course, no show can capture the reality, drama, tragedy, highs and lows of
being, well, over there. I watched this with my wife and I think she’ll have a better picture of what I faced and will be facing again. If nothing else, it inspired
conversations and aided me in telling her my story.
I liked it. Bochco does a nice job with drama’s. I liked his last one too, NYPD Blue.
I know some will say it is anti-war, because they didn’t shy away from making the Army look bad.
It is hard to make combat look like a good thing.
It was nice that they showed our enemy as a bunch of lying pricks, instead of a being misunderstood.
I hope they also show some of the good things we do over there and don’t just focus on combat.
