especially in those with kidney disease
That is speculation because no one has done a controlled study. There is a problem where iodine based radio-graphic contrast dyes are used and kidney failure results. In these cases the kidneys are already compromised from arterial disease processes. They then make the leap that dietary iodine and supplemental “might” do the same. Hardly what I would call hard science.
You can stop the iodine and do some urine tests etc looking for kidney function abnormalities. A kidney stone is always a co-incident possibility.

Yeah I’ve stopped the iodine.
Strange because I’ve had kidney function tests in the past and I don’t believe I was ever told anything was wrong. Then again, I never saw the results.
Pain is quite discomforting and hopefully will go away in a couple of days.
Pain: get someone to massage mid–>lower back and you might find that its muscles that are the problem. Take naproxin, its anti-inflammatory action may be therapeutic. Start with two, then once ever 12 hours.

So I woke up this morning and the pain is gone. Not sure if its because I stopped the iodoral for a day or because I drank a bit of sea salt with my water.
Optimal would be to get a kidney function test done, but I can’t right now. Will probably hold off on the iodoral for a bit I guess.
Do you think that I can cause permanent damage if I start it up again just to see if the pain comes back?
I thought as well that it might muscle pain but it seemed deeper.
My experience…show all the signs of functional hypo with waking body temps of 95.8- 96.0 and only ever reaching 97.7. This range was very consistant.
I decided to try IR protocol of 50mg/day for 10 - 14 days and monitior. Also added Selenium, Mag, VitC, Vit b2 and 3.
After a few days I noticed a positive difference in my skin color and was having zero side effects. Day 3 I actually felt better than ever for a time, but crashed around early afternoon . During this time my temps didnt budge.
On day 7 fatigue really hit me hard, need to sleep for almost 3 hours in the niddle of the day and noticed my max temp was now 97.
I stopped the protocol after 7 days…day 8 the fatigue is significant and again slept 3 hours in hte middle of the day, and now my daytime temp is only 96.8
Any advice on what I should do here? I suffered fatigue before starting treatment, but it’s worse these past 2 days…do I just ride it out and hope it normalizes or is there anything specific I can attempt?
