One aspect of this issue is the response from black communities. I’ve noticed even in liberal media focused on black issues (e.g.; Huff Post Black Voices) that many in the black community are pissed that black communities are being ignored at the expense of illegal immigrants. The link above is a story about complaints from people in south side Chicago who are also slamming Obama.

I support protecting the border because it’s what sovereign nations do and for many other reasons that have already been discussed and are obvious. I do realize there’s a humanitarian crisis aspect to this whole thing. But if you do that, you have to consider the myriad humanitarian crises occurring around the world. And you also have to consider the other humanitarian crises occurring within the US. Who gets priority?

On a side note, I just came back from a trip to Chicago’s north side and it’s an awesome city, one of the best American cities I’ve been to. I realize I’m speaking from a visitor’s perspective who went in the summer time and did not venture to the south side. But damn, hot women, hardbodies, beautiful architecture, cool scene, cool people, great food, etc. I can’t speak to all of the corruption and what’s going on in the ghettos because I don’t live there. It’s just amazing that such an awesome city has such incredible problems in the areas no one visits.
I rank it Paris , NYC , London then Chicago

Yet another reason to question your judgement.
If you think one of those metropolises are not (FUCKING GREAT) I will question your judgement  .

Paris is a balkanised shithole. London is almost as bad.
Tell me about a metropolis that is better ???
Considering London and Paris are amongst the worst metropolises in the western world the list of better cities would be a long one. In England I like Bristol - although there is a large Afro-Carribean population that causes of a lot of crime. Vienna is okay - low crime, relatively homogenous. Personally, I don’t like big cities and prefer rural areas.

This may be a problem.

What would happen if we had immigration reform? What does that mean exactly. Is anyone proposing anything? Are there assurances that after the next immigration compromise that the laws will be enforced?

Curious to see the effect. Both Bush and Obama did this before with some success. If it works, and gets the proper media attention, he could be a serious contender in 2016.

Correct. And their share continues to grow. Continues to grow until our entitlement obligations to them, and interest on the debt, consumes the entire budget.

On Monday, two immigrants who are in the U.S. illegally were appointed to serve on city commissions.

“They bring a lot to the table,” said Macias, who was elected mayor two years ago. “And it really empowers, or at least gives a voice, for those undocumented in the community.”

The appointments are believed to be among the first in the nation in which an immigrant without legal status in the U.S. has been appointed to serve in a government position.

Too late to worry about 'em at this point. White America’s course has been set for minority-majority status for some time now. How long before White-english is actually a full blown minority? I would suspect not all that far off in the grand scheme of things. Adults playing video games, watching vulgar cartoons, and smoking legal pot probably aren’t going to be in any more of a rush to get married (whatever that means now) and start families then they are now. I don’t know.

The immigration fight is over despite the still interesting and heated debates. Spanish. Make sure your kids and grandkids are learning it.
