I do not command English, English commands me.
I got the button up T-shirt, and im surprised how well it fits though stupidly I didn’t button it up all the way when i was at the Store, and unfortunately realize that the Last button the neck button won’t go around my neck lol.
Would wearing a Tie look weird without the last button on?
BAM nailed the interview.

If they hire after 1 interview you don’t wanna work there.

Its a Entry level IT spot at my college, there is no reason why I wouldn’t want the job. This would be a nice addition to my resume for getting internships.

I have never had a second interview for any job that I have had. They either like me or they don’t after the first one.
Why would a second interview mean anything other than that they were confused about who to hire?
Hell, your GOAL should be to have a resume that shuts so many other people out that they DO hire you after just one interview.

I got my first interview for a Job at my College and its for a low level IT position and I was wondering if its okay to were Khakis and a Polo shirt? Im thinking wearing a full on suit isn’t ideal also I don’t even have one lol.
I do a lot of hiring for my company and I’m always impressed when a candidate for any job who shows up in a suit and tie. It’s been said that you never get a second chance to make a good first impression. Why not make the very best one that you can?
Good luck man.
got that right! always dress for where you want to eventually be. do you just want to always be entry level or do you want to be the one that sits upstairs making the big bucks and big decisions?
good luck!

Neither have I, but many larger companies have a hiring process that involves multiple teams. The more experience I get though, the more I realize that that’s for chump level jobs. If they want you bad enough (ie, you’ve done enough networking), the interview is a formality.

Exactly. That was why I commented.
The truth is, you RESUME should do all of the talking for you. I have had people hire me over the phone because of my resume. The interview at that point is just to make sure you aren’t insane and will cost them money for hiring you.
In fact, anything short of, “I think you are exactly what we are looking for” is a fuck up and will require a few phone calls to show desire and persistence.
I think an interview is a very formal occassion, hence one needs to wear proper attire. I think a two piece suit is an ideal thing with a tie

I edited my quote, and it disappeared
the edit was: Remember this when you start to interview for a real job out of college.

This is highly dependent on the type of job you are looking for. I’m sure for oral surgeons it is more cut and dry but most professional positions that are not strictly technical have a huge wish list and they have to settle for what they are willing to accept.
My wife is currently on the hunt after seventeen years as an executive for the same company. She has already done the three hour interview with four different people and is scheduled for a second two and a half hour interview with their superiors. It has become a full time job on top of her full time job.
