International Jihadis and the West's Response

Seems totally reaonable of us…ugh.

My point:

Somehow we are supposed to fix these centuries-long hatreds and schisms militarily?

Good luck to President Trump and Vice-President Putin.

That sounds exceptionally ugly. Like the start of another wave of religious cleansing.

Noooooo, not at all. Our only job is to keep our own interests advancing.

AGREE, Aragon!

It just bugs me.

Today; Trump was at some “sit-down” in Virginia today, with some Ex-General giving him leading, soft-balled question. (Which I have no real problem with).

Huge crowd. (as usual).

My problem is how Trump was throwing out all these “easy” answers to EXTREMLY complex problems in the Middle East.

In many ways I hope he wins, so he gets a taste of how “easy” these problems are to “solve”.

Perhaps we are expecting too much? The greatest intellectual, military, and diplomatic minds and teams are not exactly solving these issues either. Not trying to defend answers that come out “Well we gonna bomb them sonufabitches back to 700 AD and let them start again.” But there are like 12 groups fighting in Syria plus proxy sponsors like the G7.

Big news in the Muslim world - the grand mufti of Saudi Arabia, the supreme religious authority of the country, declared Shias “followers of Zoroaster” and therefore non Muslim and infidel. This means that the blanket term “Muslim” will soon become officially obsolete.

"BTW, this guy is his second in command - not some lone rogue preacher but the second highest religious authority in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Praying for the success of ISIS and destruction of Jews, Christians and Shias.

These are the guys every US administration sells billions of military hardware every year. These are the guys behind ISIS and every terrorist attack in US and Europe".

US allies

Iran’s grand master will come out over this one…

Well, I have 9 years experience in about 6 Muslim countries, fighting, training, and working. Currently, I am in AFG. I am just a trigger puller, so, I have spent 90% of my time with the “average” man. I could write an extremely long list about the hypocrisy that surrounds the Islamic religion, but, that’s for another day. From a laymans point of few, based on practical experience, there is no solution to the “problems” of the ME. Since, I have worked with Sunni, Shia, Kurds, etc…I can tell you, there will be no progress as long as one Sunni and one Shia are sharing the same space.

On a humorus note: You really cannot make this shit up:

“In court documents, prosecutors said that Besim and a British accomplice had also discussed packing a kangaroo with explosives and painting it with the ISIS symbol before setting it loose on Australian police officers”

Here’s something that I just don’t get.

Yeah! Victory in some measure! But waait a second. The article explains the strategy and timeline of when and where and how the victory will be achieved.

We did this one other time too, when we broadly publicized the withdraw plan from Iraq. The insurgents read up on it, cooled things off, reconnoitered for a little while, then ambushed Iraqi forces- under the ISIS flag.

So what are they going to be calling themselves in a couple of years, after they put their guns down in the coming months, re-organize and do it all over again?

Just finished reading this article, Damn, all my respect, what a shot. LOL…ISIS filth turned into roast pork. Too bad you cannot push a button and all of the ISIS sadists would burst into flame, especially the child rapists.

It’s nice to know he got a brief preview of hell before he actually got there.

He’s saying we are allied with animals, in country of Saudi Arabia. He’s not calling for nuking them.

Now that’s an impressive sniper.

Anyone have any comments after the various terrorist attacks which occurred across the nation? What should be done about them? Is enough being done?

Still digesting frankly. Also uber busy so not my usual thoughtful self (if that’s ever true lol)

article about resistance group in Mosul. Sort of what I was talking about earlier in this thread… it’s now happening. Or could intensify if a ground invasion begins. What is now considered a “graffiti campaign” could eventually turn into an uprising, especially if ISIS continues to harass ex-Sadam military & their families.

So, allegedly operating under a position of so-called power…when John Kerry himself, in his famous quote which supposedly terrified the Russians and Syrians into giving up Syrian chemical weapons, didn’t even think the job could be done and was probably speaking rhetorically:

MODERATOR: Margaret Brennan from CBS.
QUESTION: Thank you. Mr. Secretary, in that CBS interview that you just referenced, Bashar al-Assad said that the presentation that you’ve made reminds him, quote, his words, “of the big lie that Colin Powell said in front of the world about weapons of mass destruction in Iraq.” He says you personally have presented no evidence of a chemical weapons attack, just your confidence and your convictions. And he disputes the argument you just laid out, his argument saying his government relies on reality, not social media, and says Russian intelligence contradicts this false evidence. What is your response?

And secondly, is there anything at this point that his government could do or offer that would stop an attack?

SECRETARY KERRY: Sure. He could turn over every single bit of his chemical weapons to the international community in the next week. Turn it over, all of it, without delay, and allow a full and total accounting for that. But he isn’t about to do it, and it can’t be done, obviously.

Kerry didn’t think threatening Assad would even work. According to his own words.

So much for operating under a position of power.

Here’s what a speaking from a position of power actually sounds like:

later.

Curious as to your opinion on why said strikes weren’t carried out. It seems Kerry at least was ready and willing to proceed.

Please read the rest of this abortion of a thread for an explanation as to why the attacks weren’t carried out.
