Here’s an interesting piece on the omega-3s found in flax. Maybe not enough to swear it off entirely, but something to think about. (I really don’t care either way since I don’t ever use flax oil, mostly because I could never bring myself to pay the 10 bucks for a bottle of it, and am always suspicious of plant-based omega 3 sources.)
The omega 3 in walnuts is ALA, but if you go to www.nutritiondata.com you’ll see that it doesn’t have tons of omega 3s, only that it’s more than normal nuts (peanuts, cashews, etc). I’m going to say that ALA is better than taking in the same amount of omega 6s as you probably get enough of them already.
