Insomnia Since Starting TRT

Don’t freak out brother…There have been higher numbers posted…

This is a cause for concern though so you need to take corrective action soon.

How do you feel?

How long were you on this 50 e3.5 ?

I don’t feel great to be honest but that is probably down to lack of sleep and my current mental health.
I am going to give blood this week and reduce my dose, not sure what dosage to go to though ??

This was at the 4 or 5 week mark, I know it’s early but I needed to know about my E2

Maybe go down to 90.

I’m hoping the Enanthate will make a difference also. Will 90mg be a big enough drop ?

Am wondering if you are taking anything else that is thickening your blood?

10 mg drop could be enough. Maybe with your other issues mid range free t better? If so closer to 80. I’ve read guys do well on 80.

Other then the hct and platelet your labs are good. Your estradiol is a bit high but so is your free t.

Also if hct was high before your change in my case took longer to stabilize. Like months.

No clue about these versions of T your taking unfortunately.

Your Hct is high and you definitely want that to drop a little. So yes definitely drop the dose as stated and that will help.

One more thing to add, and maybe someone with a little more knowledge can chime in here, but I just noticed that your ferritin is on the low(ish) end too, so maaaayyyybbbbeee not the greatest idea to donate blood. Drink a shit ton of purified water and lower the dose for sure though. May want to get a second opinion on the donation though.

Lowering your dose next shot will help. I would drop by 10 or 15 not 20. Plenty of folks walking around with 53 hct. The worry is that if you can hit 53 hct that quick; then how much higher will it ride If you continue at this dose.

What was hct pre trt? If it was in the 50s with low t it’s close to normal. Problem is figuring out what’s your normal. 53 for you might be normal and to high for me.

Lastly hydration. Did you hydrate well and do you stay hydrated before your test. I have seen guys lower hct by 2-3 points hydrating properly.

Testosterone 780
Estrogen 52

I’m not sure what it was pre trt.

I tend to stay hydrated, I drink lots of water.

I was thinking of dropping to 80mg per week, is this too low do you think?

High hct doesn’t worry me. High hct coupled with high platelets does however worry me a lot.

Will giving blood and reducing my dose resolve this?

It could…but ,mind the following…

Would an iron supplement help?

I would recommend getting on 80mg. Yes Iron can help but it can also elevate your HCT even more.

For me interestingly enough as I’m experiencing the same problems as you do I started arimidex two days ago and it fucked me up pretty badly. I took .5mg and crashed my E2 right away. Terrible depression and anxiety since yesterday. Antidepressant not doing anything at the moment. Side effects of the SSRI are also gone so I think my serotonin just dropped a lot even though I’m raising the dose at the moment. Still I have symptoms like in withdrawal. I’m really starting to wonder if the result in the end is worth the journey.

I’m coming more and more to the conclusion it’s all about the T/E2-Ratio not the individual parameters. The higher T in comparison to E2 is the lower your serotonin goes and the higher your dopamine. However some people esp with anxiety disorder seem to have naturally high dopamine/low serotonin environment (or cant handle high d low s) which promotes anxiety and the T just plays right into this.

Since for me it got a lot worse I’m gonna quit the AI and just wait. If this doesn’t work I’ll add hcg and if this doesn’t work I’m gonna quit.

I’m now on low dose fluoxetine (prozac) I am building this up slowly due to my sensitivity of SSRIs, I suffer the side effects. I’m feeling pretty washed out at the moment. My anxiety has got worse since TRT so I believe you are correct.

I also question whether I did the right thing by starting TRT, it seems to be a minefield. I just wish my doctor would have warned me about all the pit falls!

I stopped eating red meat 4 months ago!

It makes total sense it got worse! Since you have come off the SSRI you have been in a slightly serotonin deficient state. Now you add T and boom. Even less serotonin. Of course you feel like shit. However I don’t know if the serotonin decline is temporary or constant. For me it’s obvious I’m even having brain zaps at the moment which is a bulletproof sign of a huge drop in serotonin. However Estradiol seems to elevate serotonin. I think it’s possible to get to a good balance with T but I think it takes a lot of time and endurance.

Tbh we as depressive/anxiety patients are just guinea pigs doing our own research at the moment.

All I can recommend is to drop your T dose significantly and build your way up slowly. High HCT is also no joke.
