Infected Again!

So third time this year with cellulitis from pinning. What gives? Any ideas on the cause? I am religious about cleaning the environment, cleaning myself and equipment. Also gear is from a reputable medium sized UGL.

Is there something I am missing? Is it dose dependent or something? It just seems crazy to me. Any thoughts appreciated.

Are you sure it’s cellulitis and not an allergic reaction?

Maybe that’s the problem. Some people are allergic to Holy Water.

But seriously I have no idea. I’ve never had an infection.

Not an allergic reaction. It is random and is definitely an infection.

what symptoms are you experiencing? I used to get swelling, redness, and heat all the time when the gear would leak out of the muscle into fatty tissue.

do you have a fever?

Heavy swelling, very red and warm and it hurts no matter what position I am in. I can’t sit on that cheek. Low grade fever, chills, loss of appetite and just feel shitty. I have been on AB’s for 48 hours now. Slight improvement. At least an improvement even if not much.

I have definitely had my fair share of charlie horse or slightly irritated tissue from a pin. Usually like where the oil spreads to other tissue like you said. This is definitely a different beast.

toss the gear

Damn. I bought 5 bottles. Second pin from the first bottle. Do you think I should waste all five or just the one? Same batch I presume.

it’s your call.

I certainly would toss it

The bottle I used is definitely going in the trash. Worth emailing the lab and let them know?

i would.

they might have contaminated equipment, or it might just be a batch or two…

if you used a source board I’d message some of the other users, too.

I am starting to think it is an allergic reaction. Been on AB’s for 3 days and there hasn’t been getting much better. It is better in the morning then as I move around during the day it is crazy localized swelling and redness and pain. My fever remains low when it does pop up. It really does look like a really pissed off area. There is no abcess forming or anything though.

Could I be allergic to the oil or something? Just a couple of random events?

you could be allergic… i believe that’s why there’s test cyp and test E… basically the same thing, but in a different oil (cottonseed oil vs sesame oil)

maybe the UGL used a different oil altogether, as well…

I started an RX steroid for inflammation and in less than a day it is helping. Really looks like it could be the oil. Getting more info on the manufacturing.
