In It for the Long Run: 260kg Deadlift, 200kg Front Squat, 130kg Log Press

Feeling it today. So tired. I’m gonna need both my rest days.

Any chance you can get some videos of the comp?

I’m counting on it.
Gonna try and get an actual video recorder and not a phone as well.

Hows it going man? Not seen you in a while. You had a baby right? Hows that treating you?

Nah I’ve been here, you’re thinking of @burnur, he came back for a few weeks but I haven’t seen him in a while, hopefully he’ll be back when he gets some spare time.

Yeah I posted in your log a few months back. I try to stay in my lane and only talk when I feel like I have something meaningful to say. The only thing I’d be writing in your log is that you’re crushing it lol. Sorry to hear about the covid scare, though. Hope your family is doing well.

Yeah sorry dude. I’m genuinely shit with names and stuff.
Chip in when ever man. I’m welcome to the company.

We are good. Thank you. If it’s in the house (and it could be we have all been ill) then its minor cases through out. It’s just the smell thing. It’s a bit peculiar. Just in the way of events training now. Which is shit

All good man, I am the same way.

Sucks about the training. Luckily you at least have something you’re doing. Hopefully in a week or two you can get back to using the implements and progressing with those.

I have nothing to compare your log press to, since all my pressing is garbage, but a 82kg log for reps is badass man.

Mate - mine were garbage. It’s all hard work and food.

Also covid scare over. Tests back clear.

Strong man day. Logging at the gym. So it might not make sence.

Log
2 sets of 75kg max in 60 seconds (+ 1 rep if I’m almost there).
First set 6 reps in 58. Happy puppy.
2nd set 5 mins later
Then drop set every 10kg to 45kg.

Happier with this today than in a long time.
No video @hardartery as all the gym goers where busy. Hate interrupting ppl.

The secret is to slow down. Proper clean each time. Don’t try and cheat. Also keep my elbows wide. Dont allow them to come into the chest.

Yoke 210 20m return x2
This is longer than before. I normally do 20m farmers there and yoke return.

First one was okay. 2and couldn’t get the yoke on my shoulders right. Dropped it. Took a while to reset.
A bit shit but hey - its training. This is where you can make mistakes.

Farners 105kg/hand. 20m return x 2.
These were fast. Very happy.

Only 3 events but in 1.5h this was hard work. Yoke still not working quiet right but I feel I have the strength to force it through on the day.

Weight was 106.3 this morning. Happy the weight loss is slowed down but it’s time to start on with the super strick again.

I notice I’m falling into an Eric Bach sort of cycle. 2 week of quite rapid weight loss- the 2 weeks of maintenance. Just repeat the cycle.

Sonim 2 weeks time I want to be sub 104. 2.3kg off in 2 weeks. Easy.

Getting I’ll has been great for weight loss.

104.4 this morning…

I’ve eaten a bit more today to off set this. I have deadlifts tonight so I need my strength.

That’s a lot of weight lost in not much time man

Yeah it’s a bit. I’ve been quiet ill and not eaten. So I think 90% of it will come back. But I’m not too much weaker. Went to the gym tonight and done “okay”. Subpar for a normal work out but given the extreme calorie deficit since monday and the fact I needed to sleep 13h yesterday I’m happy enough.

In that note:

Log
85 x 2
82.5 x 4 no idea what that’s about.
Drop set all the way down

5x5 pull ups

Axle deadlift a bit disappointed but end of the workout in a rush banging head ache
170x6. I had 10 in there but I head was killing. I’ve got this for the comp.

Fyi my boy came to the gym. He is 8 and has membership.

5kg dumbbell floor to press 5x5
Squat 5x5 20kg
Pull ups
7,6,5,4,3

So today has been cardio day.

1h of touch rugby this morning. And then a BMX track induction this afternoon. I’m totally drained. Allowing myself a few high sugar treats today. Weight was 104.6 on waking so that’s good. Proper weigh in Monday. If I’m still below 105 that’s success.

Event day today.

After my illness I’ve been trying to get some sort of normality back. But today I was snagged from the start. Perhaps all that cardio yesterday was a mistake.

Log - my session thursday was obviously too much.
75 x 1 - 2 of.

Arm over arm
120lg on the sled 15m pull 4 of.
Felt good. Struggled at the end.

Yoke 210 x20 x2
250x15m x2
250 1/2 squat x 1

The half squat is where I sent the cross bar really low and just carry out the top half of the squat. Was hoping for 2 or 3 of these.

Over all a so so session. No disappointment. But noting to be overwhelming happy about. My log sucked but I smashed it Thursday. Yoke okay, arm over arm okay.

So my plan to eat a “bit” more had me weigh in tonight at 108.0

That’s a lot.

I lose 1kg over night but thats still 2.5kg more that friday morning. I’m hoping it’s all transient weight after a MASSIVE meal out tonight.

Edit - weighed in at 107.0. There is no way I’ve gained 2.6kg in 3days. This is all transient. Give it a few days and I’ll be back in the 105/104 range. Ready for 103 next monday…
I hope.

So weight in at 106 this am. Lots of weight leaving. O so work out. Had to remind myself to go easy.

Press 3x3 70kg. Load 80kg but got nothing.
Front squat 110kg 3x3
Pull up 4,4,3.

Nothing too taxing. Just a mid week carry over.

I m 105.2 right now. I drop a kg over night give or take. I’m well on track.

Rugby running session. 10x50m runs. Not 100% sprints. But fast enough.

So photo update.
I’m still fat. But the photos dont represent how solid my upper body looks these days. I guess they do in reality. I’m just trying to talk up my size…

Edit - yes I’m well aware I have BIG hips.

Photos can be tricky sometimes, but that first pic definitely shows some very solid upper back and trap development!

Thank you.

Its a vanity shot tbh. You shouldn’t pull a pose if you want honest evaluation.

It why I added another relaxed back shot. My back is my forgotten group. I work legs and press so hard I forget I’m not bad with rows. I could get a few reps out at 65/70kg one arm row. It’s not world beating but it’s pretty good.
