I'm Getting Worried: The Erosion of Our Rights

Sorry, folks (not really!):

Could you even begin to imagine the backlash if President Obama had made such a statement?

Hannity probably would have had a stroke live on air…!

(Somebody probably should give Trump one of those Pocket Constitutions maybe?)

They would have accused him of being born in Kenya and a secret Muslim planning on enacting sharia law and taking all our guns.

He doesn’t have the balls or the support. He couldn’t even get his wall built with a Republican congress.

It’s pretty well confirmed he’s not much of a reader.

But believe me, no one knows more about the Constitution than me…

Let’s hope both sides do what they want, to the fullest extent permitted by law. It would be nice to see some semblance of federalism restored.

If I remember correctly, during the dark period of Kenyan dictatorship, Hannity would pause, pretend to choke up and say something along the lines of “It’s called the constitution Mr. President” with his voice breaking.

Aaany day now…

I think bluffing is lawful; however, I’d rather see the Governors of the West Coast states tell him to kiss their asses.

Bro. You’re reaching now.

Trump’s statement is so fucking bad by all objective measures that the only thing you can come up with to defend him is : he must be bluffing.

Woof. Don’t give up your principles just to support a man.

Wow.

No surprise. Just Wow…

Found this picture…

What’s bad about it? We’re supposed to love Abe Lincoln.

That’s not defending him. That’s stating what I believe. I do think the Governors should call him on it-I’d like to see some return threats to withdraw from the United States, personally. If I’m not mistaken, he’s already been told he can’t withhold funds appropriated by Congress. Yes, he’s a Yankee. Yes, they run their mouths.

Yankees built this nation and also successfully fought to maintain it. Regardless, Trump is not a Yankee; his grandfather was born in Germany.

Trump is despised by his home state, for the most part. You’re so entrenched in his defense that you don’t even know what defending somebody means anymore. You’re explaining away dictatorial rhetoric as “bluffing”, and even framed it as “bluffing is lawful”. That’s a defense. It’s okay, though - pretty much everyone who routinely defends him have tripped over themselves coming up with new ways to explain things for him, just dust yourself off and get ready for the next one. No mention of his propaganda video during that briefing either, I see. Just a bluff.

Any commentary on this meme that applies to Trump after what he said? Long radio silence after your perfectly timed meme, bud.

Hope it’s fake

Exactly.

it’s such a terrible time when the president can say he has total authority and we know deep down he said that mostly because he’s a fucking idiot entering dementia early, late stages of syphilis, Sudafed-fuelled ranting or all three and only a little bit because he will actually try to exercise that authority he doesn’t even have.

Post a link. I really have no clue what briefing and video you’re talking about.
I can assure you guys I believe the states should have absolute power to manage their own affairs in regards to not only Coronavirus, but everything that is not specifically prohibited to them in the Constitution.
I’d guess most of you guys don’t believe States can leave the United States without the approval of the others or that States should maintain their own Militias.
What’s great about Trump is how much his doing what 20th and 21 Century Presidents have done stresses out Progressives. It’s not that his policies are necessarily great.

That’s where you’re wrong. I have zero concerns about Trump exercising. He thinks you have a finite amount of heartbeats.

In his defense, I don’t think you can prove him wrong. Lol
