I'm Disturbed....

This is what I was talking about when I started the Addictions Choices thread. I should have left the inspiration part out…

Anyways. Choices, personal responsibility we as a society have helped people become less responsible for their actions. You don’t get enough love from your family that’s why you eat too much. NO! You comfort yourself with food instead of dealing with the situation or emotions. LOVE YOURSELF FIRST! Take control of your life, make yourself happy and screw whoever does not give you affirmation about it!

Simple choices…nothing more, nothing less…

Not saying easy choices, just simple ones.

Do I eat the burger or the tuna salad?

How complicated is that question? It is simple. The more often you make the proper choice, the sooner it becomes automatic.

Have any of you caught the show “The Biggest Loser”? Yes lame show but damn those people lost some serious poundage. It can be done without this proceedure. That is just the quick fix that everyone is looking for. I know a girl that had it done. She lost about 100 pounds and is still fat and she was butchered by her doctor. I think dentist actually did the proceedure just as a dentist can do plastic surgery. What a mess! Not worth it unless there is no other way.

gastric bypass surgery shouldn’t even be available to people unless they have a genetic dysfunction causing them to be unable to maintain healthy weight or to diabetic patients with doctor recommendation.

Lol.True, but last I checked people were not LIVING LONGER.I know of two people who had heart attacks and died. Both pretty yong too.The doctors don’t know what caused it( like always).Every single time I turn around some young guy is dropping dead.Lmao.

May I offer “A Modest Proposal” ? Just no babies…only the extremely obese people…joking aside! The world really is on a down slump in my oppinion. Public views of health is normally near anorexic(nichole kidman, mary kate and ashley, most of the male models today, etc) Which is really sad considering that even though we may be living longer lives now, the quality of life !IMO! is going down. I suppose perhaps, thats a rant for another day.
The problem is not that it’s being used in that rare occasion where it needs to be to save a person’s life, it’s that it is now becoming an acceptable weight loss mechanism.
About five months ago, a woman in my area at work had gastric bypass surgery. Maybe I’m just an asshole, but I had a VERY difficult time keeping my mouth shut. I knew that if I started talking to her about it, I’d end up saying something mean. I figured it’d be best to keep my mouth shut.

Why? I watched her eat crap every day. Potato chips, regular soda, cookies. I’m eating my chicken and oatmeal, and she’s grabbing cake and ice cream at the potluck.

After she had the surgery, I got to listen to her tell all of her friends about it, since I sat across from her. Perhaps she had a medical problem, but I doubt it. All I heard was, “I’ve been on such-and-such a diet.” “I’ve tried EVERYTHING.”

BAH. I was a fat kid and a fat teenager. Then I was skinny fat. Not trying to toot my own horn here, but I finally slapped myself into taking some responsibility.

Why are we a society of victims?

Incidentally, her “diet” hasn’t changed. In a few months we’ll probably hear that the surgery “didn’t work.”

Nothing against a fat person…but when they utter “I’ve tried everything” they find themselves getting roundhoused in the mouth. I find that to be an effective way of cutting the bullshit right at the source. ;-)
I hope chuck norris is the one who roundhouses him, then again, if someone else did it, he’d roundhouse them too.
