Do you pay taxes that apply across the country? Yes. 35% in Indiana is the same as 35% in Texas. You pay more absolutely but not per person.

You want me to do a lot of research to prove something to Professor Szell? WTF planet are you living on? He’d never, never admit that he was wrong. He’s a cockroach. I made up numbers because he kept asking me the same shit over and over. Ever seen ‘The Marathon Man’?

Is federal money pouring into Texas? Yes. Now, why? Why should you guys get dollars from everyone? Are the rest of us your insurance company? If you’re so rich down there, pay your own bills.

You should all be hit with a huge surtax to pay for all the federal money being sent there. And don’t even mention the nonsense about how Texas pays more and blah, blah, blah. You pay more because there’s more of you.

You guys are using your needs, to drain the rest of the country. And you don’t ask, you just take, using your hired IRS thugs. No thought for those who pay and are drained. “But we need it!!”, you shriek, with no thought for those who have to pay for your repairs.

What are you going to do when you run out of victims? The country is going to hell because of this ‘gee let’s rob our neighbors’ philosophy. “But we need it!!”

I think your user name says it all. Ayn Rand’s philosophies would create a completely failed state in my opinion.
Texas provides huge wealth to the rest of the country. Helping them in an emergency is onlt the right thing to do.

The help is forced. If the people were so gung-ho to help, why does tax money have to be used at all?

I have lots of sympathy for the people who suffered through no fault of their own. But why does the need of others give them a right to demand my money? What if I want to keep my money? What if I want to build a vacation home of my own? Why do I have to pay so someone else has new roads and sewers for THEIR vacation homes on Galveston Island?

There is no just reason for this. It is blind brutal force.

[/quote]

Stop driving on my roads. My state pays more than your state and your state uses it for your well being.

My family has a vacation home in Galveston, or had one. Not sure if it is there anymore. So do some of my parents neighbors. Everybody is claiming insurance on damages per insurance policy. So is everybody with a regular home in the area. Not one dime of federal tax money will go to our previous property or the rebuild on a new one.

The american tax system (largely supported by Texas) local gov’t and even charity are going to keep people alive with food and water until their insurance claims are filed and businesses re-open to serve them. And to rebuild public infrastructure.

This is why the tax system is in place. If your concern is rebuilding my family’s vacation home, don’t worry, we have it handled privately. So does everyone with enough money to have a home, vacation or otherwise. It is a legal requirement to be insured for just this reason.

Even people who rent are covered by their landlord’s insurance, property repairs will not fall on your shoulders. Don’t get ahead of yourself “Atlas”.

35% = 35% yes, but that is false ceteris paribus. when texas contributes a larger portion of tax dollars over all compared to Indiana, more of our money lands in the public pot than yours. Get off my roads.

Surely weighted averages are not above your head? But for fun, we will take your argument at face value. 35% is 35%. Texas is taking it’s 35% right now.

I am glad you are beginning to see more clearly, but get back to improving your mathematical knowledge and maybe throw in some economic research with tax law and finance?

I see you are in to editing, and most of the information disregarding your argument too… further evidence you don’t know what you are saying. You don’t even know what to argue!

As long as we are editing though:

AynRandLuvr wrote:

Interesting. Even with out edits, your " I made up numbers" comment pretty much ends it…

Keep it together. You have no point if you disregard the integrity of a rebuttal and edit to support your now debunked argument.

And for the record, I’m a McCain supporter. Texas is the quintessential conservative state. Who are you kidding?

ARL not only are you a hypocrite but you have confessed to being a liar to! Then you want to use a fiction movie to try and prove a point? What about real life experiences? Since you’re into books here are two non-fiction ones you can read:

This one was what I went through while working for Orleans Parish

This one was written when I was working at Fort Polk for JRTC for the DOD. Now, by no means do I claim to be part of SOF, I was still working out there and helping train our warriors.

More fun than watching you crush these illiterates is that they don’t even know it. They don’t understand anything about philosophy and hence don’t understand that what they are doing is wrong, morally and philosophically.

They think that legal theft makes it fine. Look at X and his obsession with numbers, not realising that the amount of thievery doesn’t negate the thievery. Or the idiot who wants to hit you, like the mindless animals they are. Or the atavism in human form who prattles on about Texas paying more.

I admire your efforts to educate the uneducable, but we simply have to let them evolve out, as the stupid like them always do.

The fact is that taxes are intended to maintain and develop public infrastructure. That is what they are doing.

They are not paying for private property which was the basis of your argument to begin with. Your “philosophy” is a bunk line of thought with no base logic. Or inaccurate base logic to be correct.

Another fact is that Texas does pay a huge amount of taxes, taxes we are now using to rebuild the public. There is no stealing here. To say otherwise unfortunately demonstrates a true lack of education on the matter and debunks any fact or opinion you may hold.

Social Security, Welfare, Public Housing… you are absolutely right. Tax sucking, Robin Hood societal leeching.

Natural disasters causing public structural damage (As in public buildings, not private property), not so much.

At least come back with a real come back. This isn’t philosphy or opinion but fact. Disprove it or move along.

lol…thats a route I don’t want to go ever again with him…or anything related to race.

Guys, … if you look back at the posts I think AynRandLuvr is like HH, he is just a troll. He is spouting nonsense just to rile you folks up.

HH and him are probably just stirring the pot for fun.

If he really believes what he posts is true, then why bother? You won’t convince him and he will have HH and him jerking off together and cackling like Renfields.

You know he wants the attention. He’s just like HH. Spouting poison for fun.

Ignore him and watch him really freak out

For a forum that started out as non-political these two assholes sure drug it down.
As for HH and ARL, ya’ll can call me a “thug” all you want, you two are internet bullying trolls and real life cowards, which is worse then being considered a “thug” on here.
Your right OG, we need to stop feeding the bottom feeders.

Wow, this discussion is still going on? I thought these two simpletons would have found a new thread to infect by the time I got back from lunch.

No luck Itchy. They are still babbling on about how we are stealing from the government.

Is your power on now? Mine came on yesterday morning and the first thing I did was turn on every light in the house. Then I turned the temperature down to 65 degrees and basked in the frigid glory of Central Air.

No such luck…yet.
I was told that I would have power on Thursday by a pole tech working by the house. I’m not paying much attention what the internet and TV people are saying about the power restoration.

Anyhow, I took the family, my computer and food and went to stay with my sister-in-law. I Got real tired of buying ice and switching it from one ice chest to the other…

I can’t wait, I’m gonna do the same thing when mine is restored…
