If You HAD To "Pick Just One"

Looks like the thread has evolved a little. I thought the original question asked what ONE BAR .

If we allow smith or yolk before we know it we will have a home gym like Pwn’s

That was the original question there. I picked a bar for me, but opened it up for anything

I know mate, it just made me think of how home gyms just seem to grow organically like a vine. We start of with an olympic bar and 250 lbs of weight and maybe a bench or a set of squat stands, and before we know it we have a fully stocked garage with equipment we haven’t used for months.

There’s always “one more piece”. My throwbag came in today

I mentally justify the cost since “eventually” it will save me on gas.

Funny enough, I have a yoke I use for a rack and a weighted vest I use several nights a week for walks. Probably couldn’t live without my 100 and 150lb slam ball right now either.

This is a good one.

An abandoned high-ropes course on an open air gym on an island with a beach.

I like this.. when I was on a small island in Thailand, there was a covered, yet open air gym. Had all the equipment you need and large mat space.. and across street from beach.

I’ll be retiring there in 15 years.

I grew up raising sheep. We didn’t use all parts of the animal as one might hope, but my sister and I grew up on a steady diet of burger, chops, rack and leg. Later in my adult life, after I started experimenting with other parts of the animal, I found lamb liver to be the tastiest of all liver (although a properly raised hog will produce better tasting liver than beef or elk). I am also a lover of heart, lamb being my favorite there also.

My in laws had a hog butchered recently so I’ve been eating some real good pork lately. Pork is one meat that I don’t fuck with unless I know the farmer or raise it myself, in which case pork might be a close second to lamb. Home raised pork is seriously hard to beat.

There is something so primal about Tarzan, his lifestyle, the agility with which he traverses the jungle, his methods of fighting and of hunting and killing and eating, and Edgar Rice Burroughs’ ability to articulate this character. This will speak to a part deep inside of you. And someone like yourself (especially you, having read some of your work) will quickly feel the connection and feel that desire for such mobility required to crawl, climb, swing; to hunt your prey and eat it raw, to submit your enemies to your mercy.

Every time Tarzan went on one of his bursts through the jungle tracking Jane, or taking up with one of his enemies, I felt like I was seeing the world through his eyes, and it made me want to swing through the trees and tear apart the skulls of my enemies.

The sandbag requires little explanation, almost no learning curve, and has a way of fulfilling some of that aforementioned primal urge in a multitude of ways. Sex will effectively fulfill the remainder of said urge.

My favourite bar is in Tokyo. Sure, the thread was expanded a little. But not much.

This makes me think of about half the settings in the Uncharted games. And a few very specific ones in A Thief’s End.

Aren’t you like twelve years old?

JK - Viet Nam, Portugal, Ecuador, Columbia - I am looking at all of them to expat.

Just me, an Oly bar with weights, ribeyes, Wendler’s 531 Forever - I would be so jacked!

Bar/equipment - crazy cable cross over with attached dip station/row machine/lat pull down/variety of pull up grips.

Im assuming that when we’re picking 1 bar, the weights don’t count as separate equipment. With that in mind, every and any cable attachment doesn’t count as separate equipment in my scenario.

If it’s 1 type of equipment but variety of that type then I’d go with sandbags.

Food - duck eggs

I’m fortunate enough to have a past patient who sells me 8 dozen a month for just $5 a dozen. They’re excellent, the size means it’s almost impossible to accidently overcook the yolk so they’re always nice and gooey.

Book - never read a training book so no option here. Let’s go with the OP’s ebook of bad ideas.

Recovery - sleep

Supplement - caffeine

Conditioning - EMOM squats

Equipment…nautilus pullover…i always look for a gym that has this piece of equipment

Food…pizza…it has carbs, fats and protein…and its sooooo good

Book…killing fat by Darden, this book got me back on track to losing fat and building muscle and being consistent with my training since i don’t want to train everyday

Duck eggs are awesome.

@tlgains already tried to cheat like this, haha. That is MANY foods.

I asked someone else about the choice of pullover. I find it an interesting answer. I know you can do pullovers with one: is there anything else you can do with it?

It’s not something that ever occurred to me, will definitely give it a try.

Yeah I can relate to this, found that cutting diary around eating eggs has helped and baked beans (weird, I know). For some reason I’m worse with scrambled and omelettes.

You can put me down for barbell and ribeyes.

A Book is too hard to come up with.
