If You HAD To "Pick Just One"

I was eating 20 per breakfast on one of my recent cruises, and it was amazing, haha.

For the “others”

Conditioning - BJJ. Yes i know it’s my sport, but BJJ conditioning is just “different” Interesting mix of cardio, flexibility, and isometrics. If i can’t pick that i’d probably go with rucking

Supplement - Creatine. Has the best bang for the buck, multi roll/benefit of any supplement out there. Enhanced work output - Check, Mitochondrial health - Check, Mild Nootropic - Check, connective tissue benefits - Check

Recovery - I’m going with sleep on this one. anything to improve sleep quality/quantity. I’m currently trying to figure out my “Goldilocks” zone for sleep right now.

Sport - Again, BJJ. It’s just my thing

That’s a big ol’ plate of eggs!

If they are cooked i can do 4 or 5, regardless of style. After that they turn to sawdust in my mouth and I can’t eat any more. I can do a dozen raw real easy. Just put a little Tajin on top and down they go.

I am certainly following this for the best training/workout/bodybuilding book options.

I don’t know if you’ve ever been on a cruise, but that’s how eggs benedict is served. If I wanted poached eggs, that’s how I got them.

Not yet. I just asked a buddy yesterday about his Med cruise. Said the food was alright but a free steak house on the ship.

@Brant_Drake When I go on Disney cruises, I wear all Disney shirts. Makes packing easy, and that one is a classic, haha.

@redsol1 I legit have a bottomless capacity for eggs. I can practically drink scrambled eggs, haha.

“Would you like an egg before your hamburger?”

“Oh no, that’d be too much food.”

“What if I boiled them, mixed the yolks with mayonnaise, and put them back in?”

“That sounds great, I’ll take a dozen!”

Wifey and I did all Royal Caribbean. The food was actually really good. We didn’t do the buffets, but we stuck with the seated dinners. Had really good wait staff that managed to get us what ever we wanted. Had steak one night that was served with veg and my wife said it would be great with mashed potatoes. Waiter overheard that and went and got her mashed potatoes even tho they weren’t on the menu.

another night one of the options was shrimp cocktail. I’m not an SC fan, but the waiter said they were really good. I still ordered the other thing and he brought me what i ordered AND a shrimp cocktail. He was right, The SC was very good. I mentioned it again to him the next night and he brought me another SC, even tho it wasn’t on that night’s menu.

I’d do another RC cruise in a heartbeat

One bar - Rogue B&R Bar 2.0 : Good for everything

One food - I agree with eggs (price, versatility, easy to cook, taste so good, protein and fat content, micronutrient content) but potatoes are close second because of The Martian (joke, beef is close second)

One book - 5/3/1 2nd edition (I feel like if you read only Forever without having read the original, you’re missing something.)

Conditioning - Running (slow miles, intervals, sprints, hills, tracks, road, trail) : Nothing comes close to running for the best conditioning tool.

Supplement - Creatine

Recovery - Sleep : I have a newborn and walking, contrast showers, massage, ice bath, etc. can’t replace sleep.

Sport - Hard one… so I would go with crossfit

The gym on the ship was actually very good as well. An astounding amount of free weights for a vehicle which is tossed by the seas.

RC also has soft serve icecream machines on every deck. just serve yourself.

Also on RC was the “Johnny Rockets” 50’s hamburger joint. Really good french fries.

One odd thing we didn’t see is “junk food”. About 4 days in wifey and i ordered room service. I got a sandwich that came with a bag of chips and we almost got in a brawl in the stateroom over those chips.

one tip I will give you is check the health department ratings on the cruise line you’re thinking about taking. DOH publishes their inspections for each of the lines on their website. We went with RC because they had the highest cleanliness scores. Also, if you’re not into kids, try not to book around the obvious holidays (easter, spring break, christmass, ect) or their will be more kids than you can handle.

I’d like to add a category. It’s one thing to pick that you won’t do. I had a trainer who I worked with mention that raw eggs taste like sperm. But you guys are chugging them in all sorts of ways.

Yeah, we know what your dreamsickle is.

was this trainer male or female?

I am actually more of a Wendler fan than a Rippetoe fan as far as training goes. Rip just cracks me up - he’s a caricature and he plays the part well.

If you wear gloves, make sure they match your purse. A fully grown adult male weighs over two hundred pounds. If you don’t squat heavy, you’re a pussy.

He also writes well - the nuns would beat him for incomplete sentences.

PB was considered but I just read the article on Linoleic acid - going to have to change my diet. I was on JOPBAD (Jar of Peanut Butter A Day), will have to switch to POCAD (Pound Of Cashews A Day).

Female, but I can’t imagine it would be different with a male.

And she was a little tank who liked all sources of protein. All.

She had an 8 pack and I had a bit of a crush on her.
