Just starting to prepare (it’s 3pm here). They’re not particularly hard dishes to do, but we amateur cooks know how it is. There’s always some variation in the end product.

It was a success, sauce was a bit too creamy, but overall everything went well. Angelo Negro was a spectacular wine.

I’m feeling very bloated and slightly drunk. But it was worth it. This is a celebration day after all.

Yes! Nice that you spotted the idea. During the fall that’s what we usually do. We have freezer full of fish and game. We also dry herbs and shrooms.

This time crayfish was (shamefully) bought. Deer was hunted by a close friend and boletuses are self gathered.

I like the blend of Patriotism, self-reliance, love of the outdoors and traditional food.

It takes 2 or 3 US holidays to include all that stuff.

  • Got sick at the end of the week, and still feeling a bit weak. So I did get only some week’s conditioning in. I also had to pass this days squat/dead workout. I’ll try to be okay for tomorrows work and workout.

Week’s conditioning

3 long walks and one hike. Have been on holiday whole week, so no biking to work. I actually prefer walks/hikes/jogging over biking and I hate ergs. But available time dictates my conditioning more than my taste.

Notes:

  • I weighted 117.2, but it was after 3 days of wine and obnoxious amounts of Christmas foods. Anyway. I’ve been on a weight gaining phase for whole fall, and as I have said, I’ve grown tired to it. For the spring I’ll keep eating around 3200-3600kcals, which will be around maintenance. I believe I can gain a bunch of strength with this BW.
  • Training is going good. This volume phase has been just perfect. I suspect we’re moving towards meet prep soon. I’m feeling slightly beat up, but coach said there will be a deload after next week. I’ll also have some massages booked for that week.

  • This week went well, next week is deload. I quess the meet prep starts then.
  • I need to say the deload comes not a moment too late. My left calve and right hip are feeling pretty damn bad. Getting some massage for the legs next week.
  • Besides of that, nothing much. My eating has been pretty all over the place, since we had a lot of visitors during the holidays. But I’ll get back to counting kcals next week. I’ve followed the Venezuelan situation quite closely too.
  • It’s pretty cold in here now (around -20 celcius/-4 fahrenheit), it has made the long walks pretty enjoyable. It’s beautiful when everything is frozen and stars are above you (even aurora borealis if you’re lucky). Jupiter is very clear, I’ve also enjoyed how well Orion and Pleiades can be seen now.
  • The weather will make the cycling to work not so enjoyable though.

Now when you did brought it up I’m considering. But if I understood correctly it’s focused on aesthetics, which are not my main focus. But mayyybe?
