You beat me to it. I will flip you for it. Loser becomes VP. Deal?

Newt is a constructionist conservative.

Someone who believes in the those founding principles that are hated so much by our liberal leftist enemies.

A profound constitutional scholar and student of geo political history.

Maher is a joke and a bad one at that.

Please. Newt is revered by a small portion of the extreme conservatives, and other than that is out of date and referenced only in jokes. You guys are delusional.

Not that it matters, but I read his books about what would have happened if the South won Gettysburg. They were laughable at best. The guy is s a student of politics, sure, but that’s where it ends.

Newt is far from extreme and that statement shows how little you actually know about him, much like everything else you feel the need to comment on.

If you actually read some of his proposed solutions you would see that he is moderate at best. He still believes in keeping social programs but just wants them run more efficiently. Pretty extreme, I know.

Bill Mahr knows next to nothing about politics and reading your posts I gather this is your sole source of political news and opinion.

See, there’s my point.

The closer you are to an actual constructionist foundation the more extreme you are viewed as being by liberals.

Why don’t you hipsters just admit that you do not like what this country was founded to be and you will not rest until you can transform it into the socialist utopia you dream of.

It wouldn’t be the United States any more, but who cares? It would be an ultra leftist playground where every discredited, failed idea the world over could be wielded to destroy yet another population. Mission accomplished!!!

Come on just admit it. It would be more respectable than keeping up this charade of love of country and American ideals.

They are not going to blow their cover. But we all know they hate the founders and they really hate those pilgrims.

It’s not even cover though.

If people would stop all this kissy face phony tolerance for each other maybe we could get somewhere in this country one way or the other.

These socialist utopian neo marxist nanny state liberals are the mortal enemies of American constitutional democracy and free market capitalism.

If I were running somebody’s campaign I’d have 2 minute ads with image after image and quote after quote of the founders of this country (including references) on the defining principles of this nation followed by a list of Barack Obama and Joe Biden’s positions accurately represented.

The end would say NOW CHOOSE ALREADY!!!

If you do not want the country this was founded to be then fine, but at least know what you are doing. You are signing off on the demise of the vision of the framers of our constitution, not preserving it.

If you DO have any interest in living in the United States, defined as those constitutional principles, then Obama and Biden are your ENEMIES, plain and simple. They are interested in abolishing those principles.

The big problem with that strategy would be that some third party outfit would chime in and turn that attack on both major parties with some legitimacy.

Obama is a somewhat lite version of Mccain’s torturers in Hanoi. He was flying bombing missions against people with essentially the same vision of the world that Obama and Biden are offering us if taken to it’s logical conclusion.

It sickens me watching Mccain fail to call these guys on this.

Why that would be uncivil and un politician like and would likely hurt him with voters. I say so be it. If people can have the face of their of enemy exposed before their eyes and still elect them then f**k em. They and I will get THEY deserve.

Hey, you are preaching to the chior with me. At the end of the day however, it is those 10 to 15% in the middle of the road that have to be swayed and we know they generally do not always vote on issues but on what they feel. Drives me freakin crazy - don’t you idiots know what you believe???

It is sad to say but it looks like 40% +/- do want some level of socialism in this country.

If it were not for those lifetime appointments on the courts I would say it might not be a bad idea to let them screw it up for 4 yrs to convince everyone. It might be worth it in the long run. Maybe.

But those judges can do damage for decades.

Another thing we need to keep in mind - immigration. These people are coming from a government with a socialist mentality - free health care, etc. In 40 or 50 yrs their offspring will be voting. This country will look nothing like it is today in 50 yrs. Not doom and gloom - just a fact.

I’d vote for Bloomberg if he ran. He has done a great job with NYC after becoming Mayor right after 9/11. Balanced budget, better schools, better social services, less crime and he understands the economy better than anyone.

Ron Paul first, but Newt would be a good second choice.

She turned me into a Newt! …

A Newt? …

I got better.

Schwarzenegger.

He says he does what the majority expects, because, as an elected official, he’s a PUBLIC SERVANT. He also started The Smoking Tent (cigars) where he has problem-solving discussions with members on BOTH sides of the isle. He even told Dubya to his face “George, you need a Smoking Tent.”

I can’t say I don’t like him.

He really tries, and seems to be a slave to neither party. Very admirable.

Another that the Law will not allow:

Bill Clinton

(Flame if you must; but a lot of people on the left and right feel that he would be good for the Country about now).

All the more amazing when you consider that California is attached to the mainland.

You’re a long time friend here dude and that will continue, but you’re makin my skin crawl now.

LOL!

Seriously, Tirib;

There is the thought that he is probably the most experienced and capable person out there, (is there any argument there?); and that over the years since being out of office, has actually grown as a statesmen and an expert on Foreign Affairs. (Definitely needed now).

Most likely he would crush Newt in a head-to-head; as well as a “McCain/Leiberman” (and most likely even a “McCain/Palin”).

Look; its a theoretical question; but a damn interesting one to ponder!

I’m too tired to go into all the reasons why I think you’re wrong about this, but it IS interesting.

(Iron Dwarf just picked his jaw up off the floor)
I’m speechless, Mufasa.

Yeah, and California isn’t a complete fucking quagmire right now. Good job Arnie.

The law won’t allow it…so the World, (and your daughters!), are safe from Bill Clinton, guys!
