Saw Charlie this summer…was able to get right up to the stage. It was the most badass, energetic concert I’ve ever been to.

Shania Twain’s not new country.
It seems to me pretty common for people (at least on this site) to declare the very “popular” performers as not true country. That’s not accurate at all, some people are just adverse to mainstream and want to rebel against anything popular. Artists like Jennifer Nettles, Talor Swift and yes, Shania Twain are totally country. Shania Twain; “who’s bed have you boots been under…” you think that’s not country lyrics? Granted, the later Shania might be a stretch to call country.
Garth Brooks is another who gets called “not country”. Twang to the voice, Check. Lots of fiddle, check. Sings about his dog, check. Garth is country.
One Jamey Johnson video posted already but he’s a few more. I really like this guy, he’s like the son of DAC, George Jones and Johnny Cash.
Throw in some Kid Rock and you’ve got some good stuff. I like Rocks country better than his Rock/Rap.
And a hot chick sings a good old style country song.
