That is how I have heard it described.
Wouldn’t consider carbs “clean” or “easy”… rather what’s their utility and or risk / reward.
Carbs will also cause fluid retention, inflammation… I use Cyclic Dextrin or Karbolyn occasionally but put on muscle just fine without them and stay much leaner during the process.
As for whole food sources I’d say white rice or jasmine rice. Seem to give people the fewest issues
