Idaho Woman Attacked by Wolf

Who knew there were so many “experts” on wolf behavior in the world.

I love wolves, they are my favorite predator/animal. An animal being an animal. Its an awesome picture though, really gives you perspective of how big they are, because compared to a caribou, bear, or elk, they look far smaller.

Nature is scary!

Animals perform as by their instinct. Just like people getting mauled by bears, mountains, etc. while hiking in the woods. Just like surfers getting chomped by a shark. You are in their territory, you need to be aware of, and respect that.

Also, the woman is what I would consider sexy. She’s in great shape, a hunting guide, and she’s able to competently handle a firearm in close-quarters and in a high-risk/adrenaline situation. That is a damned good woman right there. Most would have fallen victim.

Second article, $100 says his friends were drunk. Who the hell sleeps through screaming and fighting when someone is getting attacked? Brave girlfriend, leave her boyfriend to fend for himself.

I like that they didn’t hear the wolf. Welcome to predators in the wild, the real thing, not some clumsy human predator.

"…that is the biggest damn dog I have ever seen!â??

I can only imagine…and I’ve seen some pretty big dogs in my lifetime.

It always suprises and amazes me at how large a full grown Wolf really is.

It’s legal in NM to take in wolves as pets. There is this shop in town that is pretty much a “man store” — guns, old guns, holsters, riding equipment, and furniture of the made-of-horns and dead-things variety.

Anyway, the owner had half-wolf (shephard mix) puppies for sale and this couple of yuppies (plad shorts, pink shirt on the guy) bought a puppy for $700 or whatever it was.

I was talking to the owner, and basically said he got those people eaten unless they train the shit out of that wolf from a VERY early age. He agreed, but really didn’t care.

I can’t stand people like that.

Sad thing is the pup probably ended up euthanized because they’re a human sized bag of douche.

Wolf hybrids have been outlawed in Michigan. Take the worst of both breeds and make them a pet. great idea.

I dont understand why someone would want a wolf as a pet when a dog (real dog, not some stupid thing under 30lbs) is essentially a wolf genetically predisposed to be a companion to humans.

A dog under 30 pounds isn’t real?

I mean I’ve had a lot of Dachshunds and they are “real” dogs, especially the standards. I’ve seen ground hogs literally torn apart by them.

My 21 pound Dachshund mix had a ~50lb husky/timberwolf puppy on it’s back the other night at the dog park.

If you’re interested in how dogs evolved from wolves and such, Inside Of a Dog by Alexandra Horowitz does a pretty damn good job at explaining it. Super interesting book.

My daughter had a half wolf/half husky that ran away from my home on Thanksgiving Day a few years ago. I suspect it was shot.[/quote]

Or ate someone’s child…

Hopefully the child wasnt black, cause the wolf would be a racist then.
