Light sarcasm, I do think it’s a good thing if it happens a little from time to time, I do not think fucking up the climate with a volcano to do it is a good thing.

Gotcha…but this one of those things to remind us of what we take for granted.

Cheeta needs to check in and report what’s going on up there.

Exactly! To borrow a line from Rom Emmanuel, the cocksucker, Lets not let a good crisis go to waste!

I’m here in Ireland and there are people stranded pretty much all over the place. Airports are completely shut down, duty free’s abandoned. The standstill is costing airlines millions every day in setbacks. I’ve got friends on the continent who mightn’t be able to sit their college exams next week. I’ve heard alot of reports saying that this eruption has had a bigger on air travel than 9/11. Having said that, rail and ferries are having a field day, (INVEST IN IRISH AND BRITTANY FERRIES!!!)

There’s alot of interest in the eruption over here and the last time the volcanoe erupted (1821) there was a pretty much steady stream of ash on and off for 14 months!!!
But the shit may be in serious danger of hitting the fan if the sister volcanoe, the crater is a couple of miles wide, erupts as it tends to do quite soon after whenever the one that is currently erupting decides to show. If that happens the volume of ash that is released could seriously damage how things are done all over the northern hemisphere.

My wife and daughter have been stranded in london since friday, they were on their way to the airport this morning and was told the flight had been canceled again. It looks like it might not be until next tuesday before they can get out now :frowning: Its only news until some one you love is involved.

Carlin said it best…

“The planet will shake us off like a bad case of fleas. A surface nuisance.”

I wonder what the long term health effects are going to be for the people living in Iceland. All that ash and stress cannot be a good thing.

its no laughing matter all my Biotest goodies are stuck in Indianapolis(sp?) because of the no air travel thing.

Geologists have warned us over and over about events like this. What are we gonna do when the one in Yellowstone erupts?

Here in Reykjavik we don’t have any ash, it’s mostly just around the glacier, but in those areas some farmers may have to slaughter alot of their cattle due to the ash covering the grass and suffocating the animals. Some have even said thei’re gonna sell their land because they have no idea how to clean the fields.

Oh and I will give a brand spanking new banana hammock (only slightly used some love stains) to anyone that can pronounce Eyafjallajokull.

was looking at some pics of this beast and they had some of the life stock and was thinking that this thing could kill thousands of animals from inhaling the glass

UUUU YYYYYOOOOUUUU!

(Yes, this is reportedly a picture of the Icelandic Volcano)
