ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

I CANNOT BELIEVE WHAT JUST HAPPENED… the biggest… bigggest upset of the century.

India were humiliated by Bangladesh and Ireland defeat Pakistan!!!.. PAKISTAN ARE OUT OF THE WORLD CUP IN THE FIRST ROUND!!!

India limped to 191 with Ganguly 66(129)and Yuvraj Singh 47(58)offering the only resistance and if it wasnt for the late flourish of runs by Khan and Patel, India would have been all out for like 159.

The Bangladeshi bowling was simply superb, their whole team consisted of teenagers, who simply outclassed the mighty Indians in every single department.

Bangladesh scored 192/5 with the young Tamim Iqbal scoring a fantastic 51(53)and Rahim 56(107)and beat India easily. Mortaza being the pick of the bangla bowlers taking 4 for 38 in 9.3.

Now Ireland… on St. Patricks day… destroyed Pakistan absolutely destroyed them… Pakistan were cleaned up for a mere 132 with only Akmal scoring 27 and Rankin being the pick of the bowlers taking 3 for 32 in his 9
Pakistan started their bowling effort well, taking early wickets and even nailed 3 wickets late in the innings to give them some hope, but in the end the Irish were just TOO GOOD, Ireland scored 133/7 with O’Brien scoring a brilliant 72(107).

Pakistan are out… god I still cant believe it! wtffffff???

I’m still shaking my head over NZs win. I managed to see the entire game last night.I really enjoyed it. Thought we were screwed after the dismal start, but… Well done Styris, Oram, and McMillan (to a certain extent).

I was also very impressed with the Nixon/Plunkett partnership, and Pieterson had a solid innings.
As for Ireland…Well done! I’d hate to be a member of the Pakistani team, heading back home to a nation of extreme fans. Have to feel sorry for them (the team).

My love for the game took a bit of a battering (like Steve Harmisons bowling) when I flew half way round the world to watch the most gutless performance by any English national team in history during the Ashes whitewash. However Im willing to forgive the lads somewhat if they put in a good performance in the world cup.

As for the tournament winners, a couple of months ago I would have put my house on the convicts to win but im not so sure now, I reckon its going to be one of the Asian teams or South Africa to take the trophy. As soon as the tournament kicks off though I’ll convince myself that Vaughny and the boys are going to do the business!

Yea a month ago i would have put the money on us to win as well, seeing as though we smashed the boys from the country that can’t win at any of their favourite games and there best player isn’t even english! haha. Its true we have lost some of the best players of all time and of course its going to take some time to recover from that so i’ll have to go with NZ or the windies to win.

Im not too upset cos im still smiling from that 5-0 ashes thrashing.

India’s loss was completely ridiculous and the fact that Bangladesh came home with 5 wickets says a lot about the absolute lack of fight from India. What bothers me is that Sehwag continues to be retained in the side whilst not having stood out in any real way in the past 2 years, although I’ll admit his performance wasn’t the only shoddy one.

All credit goes to Bangladesh, they deserved it. As for India’s fate, I’m just hoping this doesn’t signal an exit like that of Pakistan - which i’m still kinda having trouble coming to grips with.

It just gets worse for Pakistan eh…

Bob Woolmer’s death stuns cricket world

March 18, 2007

Bob Woolmer, the Pakistan coach, died in hospital in Jamaica on Sunday after being found unconscious on the floor of his World Cup hotel room earlier in the day. He was 58.

Pervez Mir, Pakistan’s media manager, said: "Bob Woolmer has passed away. I am speaking from the hospital and all the team management is also at the hospital. Doctors have pronounced him dead. Bob has passed away and it is very shocking news to all of the team and the team management.

“Bob’s family and wife were informed by the management about his condition when he was brought to hospital.”

Woolmer was found unconscious on his hotel-room floor at around 10.45am after team officials grew concerned that they had not seen him since the previous evening. An ambulance rushed him to Kingston University Hospital where he was pronounced dead a few hours later.

His death comes less than 24 hours after Pakistan were knocked out of the World Cup following their defeat by Ireland. After the match, Woolmer spoke of the pressures of coaching. “Doing it internationally, it takes a toll on you,” he said. “The endless travelling and the non-stop living out of hotels.”

South Africa!. Oh South Africa! lol! I have never seen so many records broken in one day in my life?

They chose to bat first in a rain delayed game and blasted to 353/3 in 40 overs (yes 40 overs!!) with Gibbs 72(40) making a record hitting 6 sixes in an over, Boucher 75(31) scoring the fastest 50 in a world cup and Kallis smashing 128(109). They also broke the record for the most number of 6?s in a one day game.
Holland were cleaned up for 132 with ten Doeschate scoring 57(74) with Kemp being the pick of the bowlers with 2 for 18 in 4 overs.

Damn straight!

Hmmmm, SA should have an interesting next 2 games, especially against AUS - god I hate the aussies(not really).

Nobody beats Ireland on St. Patrick’s Day

Seriously being trini I cheer for the West Indies. But really, the final will likely by Australia vs Somebody

And the Pakistani people show their undying support of their team by burning them in effigy.

I would not want to be Inzamam when he returns home.

India is out, unless Bermuda pulls off a magnificent win. Ha.

NZ are a very good side…they are definitely strong contenders for the semi’s… England have a good team on paper, but they just fail to deliver… I just dont get it.

Pakistani’s are screwed man… especially after Bob Woolmer being murdered!!!.. I heard a report saying that they would have to stay in safe houses for like 6 months! when and if they go back home.

As much as it pains me to say this, India was definitely outclassed in all departments, by the new look Bangladeshi team… I dunno what happened, maybe it was just a bad day… but knowing the Indians, I bet they were just complacent I mean they had two brilliant warm up games, crushing West Indies and Holland.

Sehwag is only in the team because Dravid insisted… I still feel he could be dropped and Pathan should be taken in his place… we need 5 bowlers and Pathan can bat aswell.

I hope South Africa wins this year… I am sick and tired of the Aussies winning every year… this year SA look very very strong and this might me the world cup the mighty Aussies lose the trophy… I can NOT wait to see the SA Aus game… !!!

Lol… tell me about it, what a shock defeat, they really played well!.

The finals will most probably be Aus v SA… West Indies have won their matches, but apart from the Pakistan victory… none of them have been really convincing… though it would be great if Lara could bring the cup home.

lol… the subcontinent itself is cricket crazy… I can understand the dissapointment, being knocked out in the first round is bad… especially for a team like Pakistan, but more importantly, they were knocked out by IRELAND!!.. and now with Woolmer’s death/murder… things are realllllly bad for the Pakistani’s.
