And here is the first world cup match West Indies v Pakistan LIVE!!!

http://livecricketstreams.blogspot.com/

(you might need to install sopcast player… go to sopcast.org)

West Indies have finished their innings with 242/9 ending with an emphatic 6 of the last ball by Collymore… I feel they are about 25 - 30 runs short, but the total is still defendable… who knows, with their home crowd behind them and this bieng the first world cup match… this looks like an exciting run chase!!!..

And I was right… West Indies completely destroyed the Pakistani top order with a convincing 54 run victory, Dwayne Smith came to party firstly smashing 32 of 15 balls!!! and then taking 3 for 36 in 10 overs.

Well done West Indies… this is a fabulous start to the world cup.

So WI have won. It was good to see Sarwan in form, Samuels seems to be peaking, and Lara made a decent contribution.

Dwayne Smith got man of the match. He is the absolute worst cricketer I have ever seen. To me, his only saving grace is his fielding. He is supposed to be a specialist batsman, and his main contribution is bowling.

He likes to slog at the ball, without judging it. Today his performance was extremely rare.

Hi nik19.
My lot and your lot today. I’m just heading off to have a drink or 10 with my wife (payday), so I won’t be up early enough to catch the game, although I will check out the streams you mentioned(live coverage, rather than delayed is always the best). It’s going to a great weekend of TV sport for me; cricket, rugby, EPL, and rugby league.
Great pics, and may the Black Caps…well you know what I’m going to say!
Cheers

Im glad you liked the pics… I will put some more up and haha yea I hope NZ do well too, they look all set to get into the semi’s… they beat England comprehensively the other day and are looking very very strong (ORAM!).

Here is a review of the world cup so far…

AUSTRALIA v SCOTLAND

Australia demolish Scotland by 203 runs (no surprises there) scoring 334/6 with Gilchrist 46(55) and Hayden 60(73) getting off to a flying start and then skipper Ponting smashed an awesome century - 113(93). Scotland was bowled for 131 with keeper Smith scoring a respectable 51(76). McGrath was the pick of the bowlers with 3 for 14 from his 6.

KENYA v CANADA

Kenya breeze past Canada, bowling them out for 199 [with Barnett scoring a decent 41(50)] and then chasing it comfortably scoring 203/3. Jimmy Kamande was the pick of the Kenyan bowlers getting 2 for 25 in his 10 and skipper Tikolo (the best non test player in the world) scoring a fluent 72*(76).

Kenya and Bangladesh look the strongest of the ‘minnows’ and are definitely capable of causing some upsets. It will be interesting to see what happens in the next stages.

SRI LANKA v BERMUDA

Sri Lanka walloped Bermuda by 243 runs, scoring 321/6 with Jayawardene 85(90) and keeper Sangakkara 76(83) sharing a brilliant middle order partnership.
Bermuda was cleaned up for 78 with Maharoof being the pick of the bowlers with 4 for 23 in 7 overs.

Sri Lanka look the strongest of the sub-continental teams at the moment, with everyone in their batting line up in top form.

IRELAND v ZIMBABWE

Ireland and Zimbabwe made history by having a tie. It was a fantastic match going right down to the wire - Zimbabwe had 9 to get of 6 balls.
Ireland batted first scoring 221/9 with Bray scoring a convincing century 115(137) hitting 2 sixes and 10 boundaries. Chigumbura was the pick of the Zimbabwe bowlers with 2 for 21 in 6 overs.
Zimbabwe then chased scoring 221 obviously with the exciting Sibanda scoring 67(84) and Matsikenyeri scoring 73*(76) with McCallan being the pick of the Irish bowlers with unimpressive figures of 2 for 56 in 9.

I have never seen Ireland play before, but they look a pretty good side, they have given the mighty S. Africans a tough time in the warm up and now tied this game? looking forward to seeing them play against Pakistan.

ENGLAND v NEW ZEALAND

England as fucking usual collapsed from a decent position and lost to the Kiwis by 6 wickets.
England batted first and crawled to 209/7 with Pieterson 60(92) and Collingwood 31(54) steadying the innings with a decent middle order partnership and then ridiculously collapsed losing 4 wickets for 5 runs!.

Shane Bond was the pick of the bowlers with magnificent figures of 2 for 19 in his 10 overs!
England actually started their bowling effort very well, taking early wickets leaving the black caps 19/3 at one stage? but then Scotty Styris 87(113) and Oram 63(83) took them home with a wonderful partnership.

The Kiwis are looking very strong this world cup and I definitely see them getting to the semis.

SOUTH AFRICA v NETHERLANDS

South Africa!. Oh South Africa! lol! I have never seen so many records broken in one day in my life?

They chose to bat first in a rain delayed game and blasted to 353/3 in 40 overs (yes 40 overs!!) with Gibbs 72(40) making a record hitting 6 sixes in an over, Boucher 75(31) scoring the fastest 50 in a world cup and Kallis smashing 128(109). They also broke the record for the most number of 6?s in a one day game.
Holland were cleaned up for 132 with ten Doeschate scoring 57(74) with Kemp being the pick of the bowlers with 2 for 18 in 4 overs.
