I Think My Country is Finished

Yeah, what’s with that? I don’t really know. People in many cultures like to cover up, be they Jews, Christians, Muslims or Hindu.

I don’t see anything in the Quran encouraging such uncivil clothing. The Quran and Muhammadian tradition does indeed discourage the public exposure of sexual attributes (read topless, miniskirts, etc…) but Burqas are just insane.

This has been rehashed to death on a thread you started a few months back. If I remember correctly, you didn’t participate at all in the talk. Just threw the link without as much as a comment and disappeared. Revive that thread if you want to discuss that, but before, please do us the courtesy of reading the posts to catch up on the discussion.

I have no issues debating with you provided you give me some meat than a domain name to go by. Anyway, I can’t tell if you’re talking about a particular criminal case or a general rule that you believe is part of Islam. If the former, I don’t even know why you’d bring it up. Such things happen everyday everywhere. Every day, four women die in the US as a result of domestic violence. If you believe on the other hand, that it’s got anything to do with Islam, then you’re just not using common sense. Why on earth would a woman convert to Islam if that faith would condone treating her sisters like that? It defies basic logic.

Here’s a clue: none of the folks at RoP.com know much about Islam. Don’t expect to find a balanced view or intelligent debate there. The guys’ aim is clear, and impartially informing the reader is not one of them. If you must read that site, do some homework on the side. If you really don’t want to, let me know. I’ll be happy to crosscheck and disambiguate whatever you present.

Pal, I chose the Islamic faith at the age of 23. I had some time out after my undergrad school and did some relatively heavy research of the Quran and Muhammad. So, if you have a question regarding the religion, try addressing it to me.

Discourage exposure of sexual attributes? Discourage = Beat the crap out of the woman?

Ohh and your right they dont have issues with sex, as a matter of fact they can marry a woman that is already pregnant, have sex with her then beat her the next day for being pregnant and when the kid is born the can make the kid their slave, acording to the site religonofpeace.com

Yeah I did start that thread a while ago, and I was also very busy so I didnt have much time to participate in it.I bring it up again because it solidifies my point, about Islam having a problem with women’s sexuality.

Domestic violence is a problem everywhere but I’ve never heard of any Christian nations shooting women in the head in public squares because she was ACCUSED of adultery. And your right I don’t know why women join a religion that has “honor killings” either. I makes no sense to me.

I did do some homework on the stuff I said and it says, “strike the neck of the infidels”.

If you chose Islam great for you. Are you gonna start protesting some of these terror attacks in the name of Islam?
jawara wrote:

Discourage as in do your best to stay away from it. The threshold for some majority-countries is higher for indecent exposure due to the lack of democracy and macho leaders, NOT because of Islam.

It solidifies nothing. The only thing it shows is that company made the product because there is a demand.

Again, revive the thread if you must, but at least browse thru it. I have no interest in rehashing what’s been said to death.

Awww…once again, refer to a specific case so we can look into the details. I don’t have telepathic powers you know.

Go talk to one of the educated Western women who converted and you’ll be amazed at how much thought and effort some of them put into studying the religion.

Seriously, try to locate one in your town and pay her a cup of tea or something. Many would be delighted to explain to you the misconceptions you’re having.

And that’s what you call homework? putting six words from the “stuff” in quotes and presenting them as evidence?

C’mon man!

I’ve been in a few rallies to protest the murderous acts, which not surprisingly got only local coverage. Now it’s pretty calm, so there’s not much to protest about (don’t bring up Iraq where there was no car bombs before the invasion).

What do you want me to do? Grab an AK-47 and start shooting at the first guy I suspect to be a terrorist? I have always condemned acts of violence that are not clear-cut cases of self defense and I always will.

Yeah, real smooth! What better way to show that you’re progressive people interested in living in peace and harmony than to desecrate your nation’s flag?

If that’s what you’re dealing with over there, I can almost empathize with the HH, Tokoya and the others.

One question tough: Why didn’t the video show the faces of the perpetrators?
Well, Pookie inadvertantly called this one with the second post of the topic didn’t he?

If what I said isnt enough try to imagine Jenna Jameson in a burqa.

Oh no. The sky is falling.

You just proved my point for me. People like you make fun of people who point out what is is plain site, even though the threat is very real. One day more and you will figure out, my only fear is that by the time you do you’ll be swearing on the Quran against your will.
Every generation - when it comes of age - perceives the time in which it lives to be one of unparalelled debauchery and new, unique threats. There is nothing new about any of this.

BS. This is EXACTLY what they had in mind. The 1st amendment encompasses everything.

Shouting “FIRE” shouldn’t be illegal. Causing the panic should be illegal, and trying to cause a panic should be illegal, but the act of speech itself should be protected.

Does that include calls for the overthrow of the government (which I think I heard)?
Of course. Freedom of Speech.

You’d better get the hell out then; before the shit hits the fan…

I had a busy night last night so I didnt have alot of time. Anyway here’s Koran 8:12 http://www.usc.edu/dept/MSA/quran/008.qmt.html If this isn’t hate for non muslims I don’t know what is.

Oh well, yeah, let’s cut off the heads and fingertips of all that do not believe!

I guess the fundamentalists would take that absolutely literally too.

The Quran isn’t a set of instructions, and in this particular case, you are blatantly taking all context out of the equation.

Have a look at the following page, and get back to me.

I’m having a hard time figuring out if you’re trolling or just terribly misinformed. Either way, I’ll politely ask you to refrain from talking about a book which you never studied.

And what’s with the drugs analogy? Surely, you can do better than that.

I also had another question, are muslims even allowed to look at T-Nation since there are pictures of really hot women in skimpy swimsuits on the front page? I thought pics like that were immoral or sinful or somthing like that…

And I guess you also think Muslims don’t go to the beach, right?

Unlike Christianity, Islam has no issues with sex. It’s against promiscuity for obvious reasons, but encourages an active sex life and - dare I say lascivious? - marital relationships.

Despite the tremendous hard work they put into it , the body of a hot chick is still the creation of God, and admiring it is no sin.

Plus, there’s always AdBlock…

Now tell me, how many Muslims do you have in your entourage and how many majority-Muslim countries have you been to (not wearing kakis)?

I’ve never worn khahis in any of the muslim countries that I have been to. When I went to Bahrain back in 1993 I bought an issue of Muscle Mag International at store in a hotel. While reading it I noticed that an ad for a female bodybuilders poster and been censored by a guy with a magic marker. Whoever it was covered up a picture of Laura Crevelle’s butt in a thong. I’ve never seen anything like this happen in a non-muslim country.

And the Christian groups that protest strip clubs and adult book stores are different…how?
They don’t blow them up and stone the strippers. That would be the most obvious difference. That and the fact that they exist in the first place.

Nor do they cut off clitoris’s while yelling “AYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAY
AYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAAYAYAYAYAAYA!!!”

The United States is actually, in a sense, going to conquer the world. Here’s how:

(1) Use fiat money to plunder a large and relatively well-off populace.

(2) Use the acquired wealth to build a giant military machine.

(3) Proceed

So that’s why those idiots saw off people’s heads — its a dictum from the Prophet.

I’ve long held that eventually, if they follow their faith seriously, Muslims have to become Al-Qeada.

The standard reply to this is: You’ve got to read the original Arabic which says, “Love all your neighbors, Christians and Jews and treat them nice and don’t hurt anyone.” See, when you translate it to English, the meaning gets all screwed up.

Yeah, right.

Exactly what the Wahabbis believe, which is why the Turks set out to exterminate them. They missed one, his name ws al-Saud. Guess which country his family ended up ruling.
