Do you really think an initial sale at 50-66% off is a good idea? Just my thinking, but it seems it would be hard to follow that up with a sale at 2-3x the price, especially if they’re happy with the $1k suit. They might be ok paying $1.5k for the next suit, but $2-3k seems like a hard sale.
I personally would go with 20-25%-off as an entry level price, instead of 50-66%-off. I just think that cutting the price THAT much might make it hard to get followup sales.
But I don’t know your market, and I don’t know your customers buying patterns.[/quote]
That’s my thought but according to everyone else it’s a great idea.
Regardless the rest ofthe suits won’t be at that price because let’s face it, I just won’t have the availability.

I should also add that this is all still hypothetical. Well not the getting out to the law firms part but whether or not I do a sale and the details of the sale.

I’m about to launch a new internet business nd we have just made a deal with a group coupon site.
Example, Offer a coupon out to Groupon or similr sites, for a $500 discount of ny suit say $1.5k+. They sell that coupon $50.

I’ve looked into it but they’re very specific about how they do it. The deal has to be for at least a 50% discount (so a $2k suit for $1k) and they take half the purchased value so I get $500 for each suit sold. There’s no way i can do that pricing. I’d be out of business by the end of the week.

Fair enough, was worth a try, I’m using a middle eastern based site and they do it differently than that.
Do you have a site? Social media and blogging are incredible tools these days.
When it comes to clothing, contact popular bloggers, get their measurements, give them a free suit, get them to blog about it. Post a youtube video of them reviewing the suit. Can be very effective.

We do have a site and I’m currently working to develop the social media stuff.
Unfortunately I can’t afford to give away free suits at this stage. If I could I’d be all over that but I just don’t have the budget at this stage for that.

So, can you inflate the pricing and say it’s a $4k suit for $2k (or 3.5k for 1.75k, whatever)?

The issue with that is that it causes a lack of faith when those clients hear our regular pricing. I dislike the inflate then discount scenario.
