I kind of liked the feel of these. Because the end of the bar is attached to the floor you get a feeling of being able to lean back a bit into the lift.

Partway through the workout I started to feel queasy and gross and like I just needed to sit down. I’m not sure why. I was super achey all day so maybe just something passing through.
You still got through it though, nice work.
Ewww. Hope you get to feeling better soon.
I’m not sure what’s causing the general achiness and periodic nausea. Hopefully it’ll just pass on.

This is the latest handle I made. You can use it for one hand rows either neutral or pronated grip. I also use it for landmine pressing.
Friday was kind of a fun day at work. I’d completely forgotten about a builder lunch and toy drive. I went out with a friend toy shopping mid morning at my favourite toy store and had lunch at one of our builders. My boss told us at 4 that we could leave early. Basically my day was shopping, lunching and leaving early.
Today we were at my sisters for our family Christmas dinner. My brother brought the sheet metal off cuts that I’m going to use to make a proper welding table.
Sounds like my favorite kind of work day!
The new handle looks awesome You are quite the fabricator. Pretty sure you will have your own line of custom made gym equip soon.
Yes, custom equipment! I loved the land mine attachment, and that latest handle is Really Great. I really want one of those!
Delete that video and get a patent!
Thanks for the kind words. It’s really nice thinking about something that would be cool for my gym and now being able to whip it up.

This was a bit humbling. I thought I’d start super light with only a ten on the bar. I could not shift it with my right arm. My left was fine though. I dropped to 5 lbs. I still couldn’t move it with my right. So it was just the bar then. When I later looked at videos of the exercise, I realized I was facing the wrong direction.
Here’s a youtube video of someone else doing it.

Lol! But, this difference from right arm to arm is on your mind now. My left arm probably couldn’t manage the empty bar. ![]()

Yesterday morning I got into see my ART guy regarding the issue I’m having that killed my squat at the meet. Apparently it’s a resurfacing of an old issue of an overstretched ligament in my groin/hip. It only shows up squatting because the bottom of a squat; in the hole where your hips open up is when the ligament stretched the most. I got adjusted and assigned some exercises so I’m sure it will get sorted out fairly quickly.
I had a quiet Christmas. My daughter’s were with me in the morning and then went to their dads for dinner. Frank worked the night before so I had a quiet day to myself. Two of my gifts from Frank are at 14" mastercraft chop saw and a drill press. I spent the afternoon starting on my farmers walk bars and only flipped a breaker in the house once ![]()
Glad to hear you are on the mend. I can’t wait to see the new toys. Merry Christmas!

My landmine set up pulled up the other day. The screws pulled out of the plywood. Tomorrow I’m getting a 12" square of steel, drilling holes and putting longer screws through the steel and then the wood plus screwing the steel sheet down in several spots. Hopefully that will prevent so much stress on the holes where it actually goes into the wood.
Week 4 Day 3
This was supposed to be yesterday but I lost track of days since I’m off this week. I’d started on a glass of wine when Frank pointed out we were supposed to be training. I decided I’d rather finish the wine.

I fixed my landmine attachment. I got a 12"x12" piece of 1/8" steel and put that under the landmine. There are 10 fasteners which are longer than the ones I used before so there will be less stress on the centre fasteners. I also added a clamping knob since there was a tendency to pull the bar in the sleeve on some lifts.

These are my new farmer’s walk bars. They weigh 10lbs each. They took longer than I thought to make. I capped the ends of the pipe to close them and that ended up being a lot of cutting and grinding. I also made four collars as the pipe is just a tiny bit too small for the spring collars but the movement makes the clamps loosen up and slide off too easily. I ended up just using proloc type collars. Over all, they turned out really well. I can’t wait to get them outside with more room to walk.
Yay! Those look great!
Thanks. I’m very happy with how they turned out. The balance is good which was my biggest concern.
