love to go to haunted places.
where are you at in Scotland? I worked in Dunoon at the US Naval Drydock in the 80’s.
the Royal Marine Hotel in Dunoon has a room that they wouldn’t let you spend the night in because it was haunted. we rented it out to play poker in. I never saw a ghost but I was drinking Grouse and Breakers so I wouldn’t have noticed Jason if he was dealing.
I was taken to several places in Glasgow at around 2 or 3 am and heard or thought I heard strange noises.
I’ve been to a place called the “Close” in Edinburgh. said it was haunted and at 3am it was a place I didn’t want to be alone in. made the hair crawl on the back of my neck.
both Stirling Castle and Loch Ness were great but didn’t see any ghosts.
I think it was on the way back from Rothesay on Bute I spotted an old church and stopped there. saw a grave outside of the cemetery that had a young girl and her baby. her and her baby’s day of death were the same. figured she must have not been married so she couldn’t be buried on consecrated ground. don’t know if it was haunted but I said a prayer for them and cursed the church. when I turned to leave I looked across the road and saw a line of standing stones then noticed several more spaced out in a field. I should have stayed there until dark because if anyplace would have a ghost it should have been there.
never made it Culloden Moor, Glencoe, or Skye but if I can get back…[/quote]
I’m just outside of Glasgow. This “Close” place sounds interesting, may have to check it out! I know they used to do Ghost Tours in Glasgow, may see if they still do.
There’s also an abandoned mental hospital somewhere in a 100 mile radius that I think would be awesome to see, my girlfriend however is not supporting the idea.
The Brig o Doon, where I worked for years, was most definitely haunted. Was fun having doors open and close in front of your eyes, unaccounted heads peek round corners and feel like someone is so close to you they are kissing your neck whilst you tidy up after a function and go through cellars lol.
I’ve been to Culloden more
