I Just Feel Like Dancin'
DarkNinjaa wrote:

Haha, I swear, this coming from a republican is hilarious.
I’m not a republican. I’m a conservative. There is a marked difference. The situation as it is today, however unfortunate, forces me to reject American Liberalism.

As far as the history portion of the post, I was pointing out irony.

Which party has more racist left wingers? I suppose you spoke out against what happened to Stacy Dash when she supported Romney.

Skin colors vary from person to person. Some people take issue with this. I can’t change that. Neither white people nor “republicans” are the only group of people guilty of this.

Pandering for votes, and actually accomplishing things for these groups of people are two different things.

And many of the things you list here are why I can’t identify as a Republican, given the state of today’s party.

I’m aware he was no friend of either party, yes. I’m not at all trying to suggest he was anything, but rather that he certainly wasn’t a huge fan of the establishment.

He may feel different in 2008-2012 sure, but your guess is as good as mine.

I would imagine he wouldn’t be, but I don’t know.

I also would imagine like most of us, he would have been proud that America saw the election of a Black Man to the highest office of the land though.

PRECISELY. It’s 2012, (2008 in the vid, but it still applies). Different day, different time, different political environment.
Sure, I guess.

Really, Beans? Did you say the same thing on Bush’s watch when we were in 2 wars (one not even necessary) that were not even in the budget, millions of jobs disappeared, not to mention the debt racked up? When did you begin to fear for your kids’ future?

My fears began 12 years ago.

I didn’t vote for Bush either. I am not a fan of his approach on many topics. Though, like Obama, he doesn’t deserve as much hate as he gets from the other team.

I still haven’t had one single Obama supporter answer my question.

Seeing as how there are some PWI regulars showing up now I can see how some might not want to discuss it in this thread. Please feel free to PM me if you don’t mind. I am genuinely curious about the reason behind all of the celebratory dancing other than 1. A Democrat won. 2. The black candidate won. 3. A republican didn’t win lol.

What specifically about Obama are you so pumped about?
So he can finish the job he started (cleaning up after Bush). The recovery is in place, the auto industry not only recovered and payed back the “loan”, but it’s thriving like a motherfucker.

And don’t even tell me you wouldn’t be jumping for joy right now if Romney won. Those people crying right now, stunned that Romney lost, would be in the streets dancing and partying if he had won, and you know it.
The job he started cleaning up after bush? He had increased troop deployments to afghan and unsuccessfully tried to increase deployments to Iraq. The national debt has skyrocketed since he’s been in office. Not doing a very good job cleaning up IMO.

I can honestly 100% say that I would not have jumped for joy over Romney winning. Did I vote for him? Yes, reluctantly I did but I would not have been very excited about him winning. After what I saw from Obama over the last 4 years I figure it’s better to give someone else a shot than sit through 4 more less productive years of the same thing considering this is his “lame duck” term.
Iron Dwarf wrote:

Not at all. He is a squish, but at this point I felt we needed a different approach.

I was never bullish on romney, but I thought he was better option than Obama.

And you stood behind the flag as Bush took this country down the wrong turn… because you felt protected after 9/11 when he kept you “safe”, so you didn’t feel compelled open your mouth and appear non-patriotic when the USA began its decline under his watch?

So if we get past the race baiting and celebratory dancing… Why are Obama supporters so glad that he was re elected?

He hasn’t done much at all in his first term except increase troop deployments to Afghan, repeal “Don’t ask Don’t Tell”, increase drone strikes (including strikes in Yemen on the night of the election), not legalize gay marriage, push through health care reform legislation, “close Guantanamo bay” (LOLOLOL) see our national deficit reach an insurmountable number and be in office while unemployment reached a near all time high?

Not to mention the fact that he passed legislation that allows US Citizens to be indefinitely detained WITHOUT trial?

I am not a staunch Romney supporter in the slightest and I had high hopes for Obamas first term but there’s a reason that second term presidencies are known as “lame duck” terms… They never accomplish more in their second term than they did in the first.

I am 100% NOT trying to start a flame war here, I am just genuinely curious as to why some of the O supporters on here are so excited other than because it was a Dem who won the election.
Im happy because it pisses people off. Thats all. I dont care about politics at all. Lol

I voted for obama bc i knew soo many people hate him and would puke if he won…
and there have been oodles of lulz so far.

Especially the doomsday predictions.

The ideology that no gov should dictate who an individual can love, how that individual worships (or doesn’t), what that individual can do with her own body, etc?

Lol. You’re funny. And so cute

We’re only dancing here,Tiribulus. Why shouldn’t we celebrate Pres Obama’s win? You sound as if the USA are going to disappear from the surface of earth… end is near…

What I’m getting at is I would have been happy, yes, if romney won. But I did have apprehension he wouldn’t have taken care of the issues he said he was going to work on: fixing obamacare, entitlement reform, fiscal sanity…
