I don’t know about that. There’s photos of Len Dawson smoking cigarettes on the sideline during football games. David Wells claims that during his perfect game he was half-drunk. I don’t think golf’s status as a sport should be predicated on the fact that when played recreationally folks sometimes tend to drink and smoke.
