“The first $125 billion lent by TARP went to banks in the Fed system of which 90% was used to award bonuses.”
Where did this guy get his info?
You havent heard about the banks that got bailed out used alot of the money to give bonuses to the failing CEO’s? Its been all over the news, luxury spa visits and wheterver. The “Golden Parachute”
This is what happens when you have a mixed economy — the power given to government to keep things in order eventually draws the lowest elements (like Bagojevitz and Rahm Emanuel) into the government. You get people who enjoy wielding power over others.
They could never conceive of a great industry like oil or autos, but through government they get to give their betters (the ones who create/run the companies) orders. They live to give orders, which they love to do.
Of course, its impossible long-term to give orders to thinking people. Thinking people respond much better to rewards. The order givers run into this dilemma and have to resort to more and more harsh measures. A mixed economy devolves into an authoritarian regime.
And that’s one reason we see America collapsing all around us…
So it is your opinion that the automobile industry is in dire straits because of the orders the Bush administration gave them? Or are they pre-emptlively buckling under the orders they expect to be given by the next administration?
Hey, perhaps it was Clinton?

The autos are one of the most heavily regulated industries we have here. Men who couldn’t conceive of something more complicated than hitching a horse to a wagon passed laws to regulate those who COULD conceive of something more complicated.
Once again, government was used as a club, by those who could not produce, against those who could. You know, kind of like European social ‘democracies’.

Would you just shut the fuck up?
what in the fusk are you going to do in 35 days when you can’t blame Bush for anything anymore?
Hopefully you will fucking leave.
Maybe you will learn how to climb a ladder instead of making your crippled dad do it for you.

Like a president stepping down from power ever stopped you guys from blaming everything on Clinton, Carter, and even Roosevelt.

I have a right to blame my Presidents. This guy is a chicken shit fuckwad from Belgium, and has done nothing, contributed nothing but “Bush lied - people died” since he joined the site.
But defend him if you think you need to.
Or perhaps, mind your own fucking business. This has been going on since before you even knew there was such a thing as T-Nation.

I was no more defending him than you were defending headhunter. Or maybe you were.

Headhunter has also been Headhunter since before you even knew there was a T-Nation.
Noobs.

That is because power is always to blame.
Throw in a means to transfer power from one group to another via representative democracy and nationalized banking and you have the perfect storm for an elitist take over of society.
Don’t fool yourself into thinking the events that are taking place haven’t been planned by those who know how to work the system.
Get on top while you can.

You cant blame the auto industry’s failings on Bush. The enviromentalists’,labor unions, and whoever it is that’s in charge of the safety standards that we have here are to blame. I really don’t think that has much to do with Bush.

Is power to blame when things go right? I thought it was part of the libertarian credo that it was the people, not the government, that brought about American greatness.
the big three make a shitty product, charge too much for it and pay people too damn much to build it. Execs and laborers.
How is that for the auto industries problem summarized?

No one notices or complains when things “go right”. Besides, going right or wrong is not really what we are seeing but rather one class of people being punished and an other class of people being rewarded. For example, hard working, responsible people are being punished while those that squandered and spent money they don’t have are being rewarded. The people that save will have to pay more thru inflation and those that are in debt actually are paying less thru devaluation of their loans.
It is not the people, per se, that bring about greatness but rather free people acting in their own best interests that does so. Certainly, the numerous people inhabiting China are not free but rather are doing things at the dictate of their party leaders. They prosper only because the leaders require them to work hard and not consume but that could change if they instituted policies like the Soviets did and tried to expand further than their means allow.
One is more apt to notice his own good fortune when he is able to choose from among many options to satisfy his want. Thus we can say that a material quality of life is directly related to our freedom to choose between various means and ends but can only be brought about by more versus less freedom.
It is not as if these ideas are not known by the power elite. They know more freedom makes people better off, materially. And they also know that socialism is good to keep people impoverished. This would lead one to conclude that the power elite must want the majority of people to be impoverished so that they can remain in power. It is hard to challenge one’s power without the material means to do so – hence, banking is all that needs to be really controlled.
Power does corrupt and is always to blame when things go wrong. When things “go right” it is only because someone in power let something slip.

I have heard the Banks and financial institutions got a bail out, but where did he come up with the %90 figure going for bonuses. And I not saying bailing out the banks was a good thing. I am just questioning the validity of the author?s information. This is not the only web site that lets disinformation run amok.

Nobody is looking for the fucking truth. They just want to hear things that confirm their own beliefs.

Not 90%, but still bad if you ask me…
