I knew some National Guardsmen who went down to help local leos, they said it was like a third world nation and the cops behaved accordingly. They gave no fucks.
I was in the Guard at the time. Surreal. We didnāt fuck anyone up, but the devastation is impossible to articulate.
I had some EMT friends who went. They said they had armed people on the rigs shooting at the people shooting at them as they drove back and forth to pick up people. I donāt know if that is true. I do know a lot of Katrina refugees moved into Corpus Christi when I lived there. They wereā¦different.
Louisiana is a different world altogether
The whole culture there is just crooked. I had to do business with a bunch of people from Louisiana. They were the most brazenly corrupt scumbags Iāve ever met. Just doing dirty stuff that ultimately cost people their lives.
