anyone else using myfitnesspal have a strategy for tracking humapro? I tried to barcode and got 37.5g protein with zero cals. Was thinking of just making a manual food listing for 0 cals 25g protein a scoop. thoughts?
how can this stuff be protein and have zero kcal?
how does it work - surely it can’t be healthy to take this stuff similar to other zero kcal atuff filled with chemicals like coke zero etc
isn’t humapro essentially EAAs + enough caffeine to make it technically 0 calories? I don’t get what benefit there’s in it that couldn’t be had from a double serving of BCAAs
It’s made for humans, not cows.

Basically this, use the search function. Someone mentioned using it in a recent thread, dont remember which one that peaked my curiosity. After some research and a lot of annecdotal approval from some competitors at my gym i bought some as an upgrade to BCAA and Whey use.
And no, it is not for cows.
When are you using it dude? I usually take it during fasted training to stave off any chance of catabolism but don’t count it in my macros. I then shoot for a gram of protein per pound of bodyweight from whole food sources and other protein powders. I know some people replace a lot of whole food sources with it but that doesn’t sit well with me for some reason.

Just seems strange to me to count it as a macro so right now i am just kind using it as I have with BCAAs and whey just a swap. So basically replacing my pre and peri whey with it, and my first thing in the morning/inbetween meals/prior fasted anything BCAA regimine. Just confused when i hear people saying it is the equivilent of X protein.
I am shooting for 10X bodyweight cals from food source and then using the HP. Before with all of the whey I was on the same amount of food, but closer to 12x BW cals. Basically a 300cal elimentaion and stil getting in 170-180 grams of protein(i weight about 185-190)

it’s just an EAA supp, all packaged up nice, branded, marketed and expensive.
It is actually a really good product. There was a dude on here, I forget his name, who used it as his only protein source for a while and did really well on it. This guy was a big dude too. Someone else’ll probably remember the name.

As I recall, from during my lurker years, it was a member that went by the name DOHcrazy. It may be easier for some to accept the results of his humapro experiment once you’ve seen his 626lb deadlift

Something like that. Said he would eat 300G of carbs, forgot the fat, and 2 servings 6x a day and that was that. Seing how this stuff does nothign to my hunger I doubt i have the cajones to do what he did.

ah yeah that might be the one. He posts over on another site I lurk (and very occasionally post) these days. He’s a big boy. In fact, everyone on that site is enormous, hence why I rarely post. I just shut my mouth and listen.

ok that’s what I thought. From what I remember he kept his calories the same but made up the difference by eating more carbs.

Back to the topic, moral of the story is i am just going to not track it, and just swap my BCAA and whey use with it. Seeing how i was making my progress and not losing muscle at my current diet and usage, in theory if this stuff works I will continue said progress and perhaps even lose fat faster from the new 300 cal deficit daily.

i have a different name there though - someone took it already on TNation, hence the yolo
OP google waylander insulin protocol and it will show.
I use it daily and count it as 25g of protein per scoop, zero cals. I used it last year with great success when leaning out, but I did it mostly so I could up my consumption of other macros (mainly fat as I am a night eater and natty PB was a lifesaver). I’ve read elsewhere that it’s equivalent to 40g protein, 35g, etc. but I settled on 25g. I saw it at a Vitamin Shoppe a couple weeks ago for $43 for 90 servings. On a “per gram of protein” cost, it comes out cheaper than whey or skinless chicken (for me) at $.0191/gram and $.48/scoop.
Also, I don’t think it has caffeine in it or, if it does, it hasn’t bothered me even taken in the evening.

I’d need to gain like 50lbs before I was comfortable offering advice on there. There’s some large gentlemen posting there.

i find the place difficult to navigate but some threads and the standard of some posters are just immense
laughable compared to here really but i like TN too
Just for the record, if anyone does buy the stuff, do not buy the flavor Orange Surpise. The Suprise is that it tastes like how my dog’s pee smells. just awful.
