Hugh Jackman and Prep for Wolverine

I disagree, though really it will be hard for either one of us to prove the other wrong based on some photo stills. Perhaps if one were to watch previous movies and then watch the new Xmen it would be possible. Still, I think he has added some noticeable mass and as you pointed out, is definitely leaner. The sad thing about Hollywood is that they don’t seem to tolerate bodies bigger than Christian Bale in Batman or someone like Hugh Jackman.

And to Live…while some posters on the bodybuilding forum are definitely jacked and living the bodybuilding lifestyle most are not as is evidenced by the threads concerning tbt, 14 inch arms, etc.

That was some cruel shit Vader  The Blob is played by Kevin Durand, he has been in a couple big movies with Russell Crowe and is a pretty big guy in real life. I met him at a Halloween party once, and has alot of potential for size especially being about 6’6 tall. Very cool guy BTW.

You do realize that T-Nation people can gain 52lbs of muscle in a year, and lose 40 lbs of fat in a month right? After all they all do splits not some bogus no muscle gaining protocol like tbt.

I do think though that training for a full year, with his resources, Hugh Jackman could probably have been a lot more “jacked”.

He talked about “killing a lot of chickens” with his diet. I don’t know about you guys, but I reserve the high-chicken-breast diets for leaning out. Beef is for bulking!

More to chickens than just the breasts.

I like the thighs.

Mmm chicken.

Mmm thighs…

I think he probably could have too and I’m sure he knows the same. Again, it’s the fact that in hollywood there is a certain image and unfortunately I’m willing to bet that his current physique is probably bordering on extreme for them.

I mean for Christ’s sake Jake Gyllenhal(sp?) is playing the Prince of Persia and there were articles about how ripped he was and I swear it looks as though he has 13 inch arms with no muscle.

I think it’s the preception on scene in a movie that makes a difference. I’d bet you’d wouldn’t look at well on screen even if you were 200+ lbs.

And alhtought my T-Nation account is new, i’ve been reading T-Nation for over 2 1/2 years and HJ definitely isn’t HYOOGE, but asthetically pleasing to most men/ women. Plus he’s like 6’ 2"?

You can watch the X-Men drivelology. (You see what I did there? I mixed drivel and trilogy. I’m awesome) You should be able to see increases in size between X1, X2, and X3. I’ll let someone else prove me right or wrong as I can’t stomach 90 minutes of one of the crappy films let alone all three.

If it makes feel better, even if you are heavier/ carry more muscle mass than HJ, you’re twice as ugly and a douche bag.

I think the main points about this are that Hugh put loads of effort and time in further preparation of this movie…and even if the scale doesn’t show 200+ lbs, who really gives a fuck? He can act, he’s humble and he makes millions. His transition from X1, 2 , 3 and up until now shows his work ethic towards his physique.

You’re trying to put yourself on a pedestal because your weight/ lift numbers are better than his…cause really that’s all you got.

Someone should’ve said this long ago, because LiveFromThe781, all you ever post on forums now is BS about how hyped up everything is and how you would do so much better in that situation.

Sorry to say this again, but if anyone has seen your photos, you don’t look like 215 lbs, you need more upper chest mass, upper traps, forearm size…etc. I won’t comment about your back thickness and legs because you didn’t post any pics.

And I know you’ll come back with comments, like how your pics are out-dated and how I don’t even how pics myself.

Well I would never claim these things because I would get flamed for not posting pics, but you sir are one ugly mofo.

Feel free to reply to this if you feel otherwise.

end/

thats because in the only photo where im not wearing winter gear, i.e the one with my shirt off im 197. lol@ everything you say i need to improve, my forearms and traps are the easiest things for me to grow. try again.

this is a bodybuilding site, not men’s health or GQ so i really dont give a shit how toned or how much better this guy is than Joe Schmoe, because this site isnt about that. and im tired of everyone saying “well this person or that person looks better than 90% of this site” because its b.s.
i understand that theres A LOT of people on this site bigger than me, theres A LOT of people stronger than me too, but they arent Hugh Jackman, a guy who trained for one fucking year.

feel free to go back to sucking hugh jackman’s dick, fanboy.

i dont consider the 14 inch arm, thinking about joining navy seals, when do i add weight?, whats the best program?, where can i find pants to fit my massive quads? trolls to be part of the BBing forum.

or maybe thats the actual reality and im just to blind/stubborn to accept it.

this got retarded.

[quote]StevenF wrote:

Really it did. I more posted this because I like the Wolverine character and I thought it was cool that Hugh Jackman trained so long/dilligently for the role. I think that 10% of the threads on the bb forum are amazing shit that I love to read because I learn or reaffirm a lot of things, the rest is dross. I wasn’t making mention of how his physique is probably better than the majority of posters there as a celebratory fact…rather the opposite. Anyways, this was all just opinions between people and the personal flaming shit is completely unwarranted imo.

Jackman isn’t the biggest guy, but, in a recent ESPN interview he mentioned he benched 325 in workouts prior to the movie.

I can’t even bench 325. :frowning:

http://movies.yahoo.com/photos/collections/gallery/1703/all-jacked-up#photo7

Hugh Jackman benched 325, and Robert Deniro got his BF down to 3%
