I am 40. Weightlifter since 18. Test levels were 200. I am “accepted” for a program online that gives 200mg/week test cyp, hcg, arimidex, and b12. but its expensive.
Locally I just started “just got my first shot” at a local hrt. They gave me 375mg test cypionate every 12 days… no other meds unless necessary. I feel better than I have in years.
My question is should I go with the online deal and give myself shots… do I need the arimidex, etc.
Thanks in advance for any responses…
advice for new guys
– pay attention to first paragraph
protocol for injections
finding a TRT doc
The approach is to consider low-T as a symptom and to seek the cause. TRT should not simply be the bandaid to mask the symptom.
You need these labs and post with ranges:
TT
FT
E2
[pre=TRT LH/FSH if that was done, do not do now]
CBC
AST/ALT
fasting glucose
fasting cholesterol
TSH
fT3
fT4
PSA
Yes, you should self-inject, twice a week.
You need to know more than your doctors, not hard to do. Start reading!

Of course that will be expensive with no insurance and that you might not need all those damn substances at once and the supra-medicinal dose of test cyp.
One hundred to 120 mg every five to seven days is the standard for T cyp for TRT.
Arimidex is not necessary if estradiol is at a desirable value during TRT. I have been on TRT for thirteen years and never used it.
HCG is not used by all people on TRT and many men do fine with just testosterone. I was one of them, but am now on HCG monotherapy.

375 mg per 12 days is not TRT and can lead to serious problems in the long run.
Again, you don’t need arimidex if your estradiol is normal, which is likely will be if your T value is mid to high normal.
Do you have insurance? One 10-ml bottle of T cyp is 75 to 120 bucks depending where you buy it, and if you use it for 100 mg per week it will last a little less than 20 weeks! That’s cheap, even without insurance.
Brand name HCG can get expensive if you must use large doses. One bottle from APP can cost 85 bucks if I recall correctly.
The dosage is high but the bigger issue is every twelve days. I’m on 140 every seven and I do notice a bit of a crash before my next shot. EOD or E3D is better if you can self inject. You probably feel great on day two but like shit on day eleven.
But, you should start with a lower dose. Most clinics start with 100mg weekly, or 50mg twice a week. After six weeks, when the testosterone is in your system fully, you should be tested to see what your testosterone and estrogen levels are, and then modify or change the dosage.
I’m in my 22nd week without any ancillaries and have no side effects. I would rather shoot myself twice a week, but am okay with the once weekly for now. I started on 110mg weekly, bumped to 130mg after six weeks, and then to 140mg somewhere around week twelve. Before I started my test was 170. After six weeks I was 515, and after 14 I was at 715. Your dose is still TRT, somewhat less than a cycle, but pretty agressive to start. Again, every twelve days is NG (Not Good).
For what it’s worth, I’d take it slow and not jump in in a big hurry. TRT is for life. I have kids, and am 51, so am not worried about sterility. My balls have shrunk, but it’s kind of nice because when I take a shit they aren’t hanging in the bowl and getting wet anymore. I feel much better. Go slow, track your tests, get it dialed in, and enjoy better quality of life.
