Hey guys I need some help. Im not very good with computers and “technology,” but I want to eventually set up a small business online.
I’ve been researching how to do it and stuff, but when it comes to selling items, I have no clue. I know about paypal and have read different reviews. Some good, some bad. Does anyone have any expertise or knowledge in this area? What type of company is the best to sell products to people online and how should I go about setting it up?
I’ve used Paypal extensively, mostly through eBay, and I’ve never had any problems.
There are a lot of online stores on eBay, and both eBay and Paypal have detailed instruction for sellers on how to set up to use their services, so you could check those out. Even if you don’t use eBay as a “storefront,” you might still pick up many helpful hints.

I hate paypal. It has frozen three acounts I have had set up, and they are holding about $300 of my money right now.
Never set up PayPal to accept credit cards if you run a store front.
I’ve heard numerous stories about the same thing happening. Paypal freezing people’s accounts and holding their money. Then, I’ve heard many stories where people have had no problem with PayPal. I was just wondering if there is any other type of quality payment system out there?

Best company is going to be drop ship, unless you want to handle the merchandise yourself.
Unless your planning to sell on Ebay, I would not recommend Paypal as your credit card processor. There are tons of processors out there.
Maybe you should just set up a porn site. How about a camera in your bathroom…seemepoop.com

Out of curiosity, did they give a reason for freezing your accounts, or was it some out of the blue decision on their part?

The first account they froze was because we were selling products that were not allowed in the EULA. We had a paypal option in the checkout, and we were either reported by a competitor, or paypal actually checks up on that sort of thing.
The second and third were only used to pay for advertising. I had put about $1K in the account, and it was frozen when we were down to about $300.

I am going to guess that a payment, or payments was disputed by the payer. Paypal tends to be kind of one sided refunding money to buyers via ACH draft from the seller.

Yeh I was gonna handle the merchandise myself and just sell it on the website. I just been looking into the whole thing and how I gotta set up a merchant account and get the software for a shopping cart. I figured use paypal cause it the only one i heard about but wasnt sure cause of the reviews. 1shoppingcart though looked pretty good.
