is there a way to get a something back from a word document after saving over it?
i have “wordperfect” which is kinda like microsoft word. i had my training/diet stuff on there and i accidently deleted over last weeks stuff which had my diet and other stuff on it. i saved it before realizing this and i can only undo about 15 things and i typed too much since deleting it to just “undo” more of it.
is there any way to get it back?
VERY unlikely I’m afraid mate.
Because the file was already in existance your OS will almost certainly have used the same area of disk space to write the changes to.
Mark it down to experience and get yourself a backup procedure started!
Even a simple zipping up of your “My Docs” (or equivelant) folder on a daily basis would have helped here.
If you can back up to a different drive then all the better.
I can sort you a real simple script to do this if you like.
damn so theres no way to get it back? that sucks it’ll take probably an hour straight to write it up again, more since i’ll get side tracked a few times lol

There are ways but only if you have the skills and tools and time and then it would be just as much good luck as anything.
Way more than an hour or so’s work.
You won’t be getting the original back, the software was acting as it was designed to.
if you still have the word document open and have clicked save…
surely u could just click undo?
then again if this aint the case, ur fucked. lol
