How to Clean a Shaker?

Blenderball is awesome because it scrapes all of the stuff stuck to the sides.

Right after using it I rinse it with hot water, then throw it into the freezer. After 3 times of use, it goes into the dishwasher.
I second the Blenderball shakers. They clean very easy. I also have a Naglene steel bottle that is great at not keeping odors.

i’ve used mason jars for years. Never broken one.

Rinse it out as soon as you use it. Dry it off and put it in the freezer. No smell.

why the freezer?

Honestly, no idea. My mom does this with tupperware, and told me to do it with my blender bottles. Works every time.

Ahhright, awesome!

Gamma ray sterilization from a Cobalt-60 source. Be careful though

My shaker has a small stink to it how do I clean it?
after using it, put the top on right away and store it next to the furnace.

I’ve heard leaving coca-cola in it overnight will do the trick. Never wanted to waste a coke to find out.

Sorry I don’t have better science. But when Momma Roman talks, I listen (or get hit with a wooden spoon.)

PS - awesome Hayley avi.

I’ve washed it with soap but it still leaves a small but unpleaseant bad smell.
I don’t know if it’s just my shaker cause last time I put it in the dishwasher it got deformed so it leaks slightly now.
I had that problem, I left some shitty (not Biotest) protein powder in mine over a long weekend…took almost 20 washes to get the stench out. Lots of scrubbing…

now, as for the shaker i forgot about 3 months ago thats half full and in the back seat of my car… that might get thrown out. im actually afraid of how bad it might small
Man, don’t even remind me of that. When I was living in the Carib, I left one in the back of my car for 2 weeks. Mind you, on a cool day, it’s about 100 out and my 1996 Volvo didn’t have working AC. My buddy picks it up one day while we’re driving to a dive site and it smelled like a dead skunk so I ended up chucking it out the window.
alright…you guys may have one over me on this. LOL. my weekend was pretty bad…after 2 weeks to 3 months I’d figure it would be a solid block…or have its own functioning ecosystem and evolved new species.

Dumbass, shaker bottles are disposable. Use once then discard. Thats why you should buy 10-15 at a time for your weekly protein shakes. Otherwise that rotten broccoli smell will always be there.
why the freezer?
The harsh cold will cause the plastic to constrict and will force out bad odors - like wringing a sponge.

Actually, it is probably because freezing the bottle in between uses will retard the growth of bacteria - which is what is responsible for the smell (hence the suggestion of diluting bleach and using that to clean the bottle).

It has nothing to do with the quality of protein you use.

10 points for using the word retard and not insulting someone, I’ve never seen that happen before.
