I can get behind that idea.
A few more: you think citizens shouldn’t be allowed to protect themselves with firearms? You no longer get to have armed bodyguards.
You think America should send troops to invade and occupy a foreign country? You have to serve in a rifle company leading them. Not qualified? Too fucking bad. Off to boot camp you go.

I’d definitely be behind this idea. As an aside, this was one reason that WW1 was so devastating to the British (in addition to the obvious numbers of casualties): Officers, who were generally made up of the nobility and aristocracy, were expected to lead their men on all charges from the front.
But at least they had balls and courage. I can’t think of a single politician I would equate with them (except for the John McCains of old, and I mean prehistoric, times)
