I’m feeling better, but so far the $$ end has been pure frustration. First my insurance claims they will reimburese at 80% but its been over 6 weeks and no check. To make matters worse if I wasted time and went to the doc for a shot weekly, they would pay all upfront.
So then the first I’m on cypionate, paid $37 for 1000mg. But then the pharmacy claimed they can’t get it, but can get ethanate, so I’m ok. I pick it up its $68, so I’m thinking it must be twice as much, but no same amount. Really, given all the fing trips to the pharmacy, phone calls, and BS, I should just by grey market…
I usually get 200mg/ml 10ml bottle from Walgreens for around $75 I think (dr. script, but no insurance - just Walgreen discount program) but I have heard there is a shortage. I will see what happens when I go in for my refill in a month or two.
If you are a Sam’s Club business member, you can get T cyp 10ml 200mg/ml for $42. You cannot use you insurance for that or the price goes way up. This is really good for those who pay for drugs out of pocket or have an HSA [health savings account]. You put $$ into an HSA and that amount is 100% deductible on your [USA] tax return. You can have an HSA if you have a high deductible health insurance plan. Flexible Spending Accounts are similar, but I have no knowledge of that. The high deductible health plan premiums are also 100% deductible. This is all great, but if your tax bracket is low, the tax savings are small compared to those with a higher tax bracket.
If you have an HSA and get a debit card to go with it, you use that to pay for medical expenses, then no claims to file. That makes things very easy.
