How Many Calories/Carbs in a Yam?

I’ve been searching the sites on google for this
It’s pretty much so I can complete my carb count intake per day.
I’m looking at per 100grams, cooked in microwave…some sites seem to be different though.

So far I got per 100g’s of yams there’s 116 calories and almost 30g’s of carbs.
I took a massive yam I had cooked in the microwave, peeled it and it was around 400grams!
lol just wanna make sure everythin is right

Can anyone confirm this?
Or what do your sources tell you?

Thanks.

I even got you started:

To confuse you even more,

Yams and Sweet Potatoes are often mixed up and sold as the opposite in markets.

Good luck.

Yams and Sweet Potatoes also posses the same abilities as chameleons, and can change color (both inside and out) to assume the identity of one another.

lol, now hes mind fucked.

Too much thinking going on here.

My friend used to be fucking obsessed with how many grams of carbs are in units of rice. I told him, OVER AND OVER AND OVER, that 1/3 cup rice contains 15 grams of carbs. He still has a hard time believing this.

How far off can these sites be from one another. Stick with one site’s info and that’s it!

You don’t know shit. I just saw a reference that 1/3 cup of rice had 15.13511 grams of carbs.

Do you know how much that extra adds up to over the course of a year? You trying to make us all fat?

Thank you so much WestCoast7 lol.
I don’t obsess over it too much but damn I thought the cals/carbs were so low in the yams…fuck yesterday for lunch I ate 900GRAMS OF YAMS peeled and microwaved!
That’s a lot of fucking yams and way too much. I am happy to say I can cut that in more than half lol.

Anyways once again thanks westcoast.

haha about the rice thing, that’s pretty fucked up I also go by cups for rice and it’s very easy.

Also no I don’t care how many cals are in .9 of a banana  lol.

yams are carby as hell. They also have a lot of fiber, so you’ll probably poop like a rockstar.

Where do you live?

Unless it’s some tropical country, they’re probably sweet potatoes.

In the US they’re always sweet potatoes.

And now we have come full circle to their shape-shifting abilities.

That IS the key, to simply be consistent. That way when you need to make adjustments, you’re working off the same units. I use fitday if I don’t have the label information. If my goals aren’t materializing, I’ll adjust quantity as shown to me through there.
