ferritin: 65 ug/l 30-400

Thankyou

I don’t think your testosterone or thyroid panels indicate a problem.

It would be nice to see more iron labs as it wouldn’t be out of the ordinary to see low iron and iron saturation with a ferritin of 65.

I’ve been iron-deficient more than once and I can tell you I had dry skin. Same with vitamin C deficiency, dry skin and especially on hands and feet.

Are you taking any medications for hair loss?

No drugs for hair loss. My dry skin started after a month on scrotal cream and hasnt fixed itself even after stopping and continuing injections. My skin has got so bad i was sent to hospital yesterday and put on a course of corticosteroid tablets. Im concerned ive done damage to my system by raising dht so much on cream. Is it possible to develop a post fin type syndrome without ever touching the stuff or any other a/r inhibiter? I just dont understand why everything was good 4 years ago for the first couple years then all sorts of issues keep happening. When i felt my best my skin was very oily. Im getting so frustrated feeling poorly all the time.

Maybe you burned through something when on the T-cream. It’s not unheard of for TRT to cause deficiencies if diet is lacking in any way.

You need to look more into iron status.

I just want to start off by saying my body is now so messed up I dont know what the hell to do anymore.
My situation started after stopping 7 years of mirtazepine and two years of ssri(celexa/citalopram)
I immediately developed erectile dysfunction, numb cold genitals, low libido, and anhedonia/emotional blunting.
After 3 months of this I ended up having my hormones checked and was diagnosed with secondary hypogonadism levels as low as 190 ng/dl with crashed e2 as a result.
I was commenced on 120mg test e and 200iu hcg eod.

Been on trt going on 4 years now on various protocols.

I was doing brilliant for first year then good (not amazing) for the second year. The first 8 months libido was very high.
Then I took a supplement called inositol which really fucked me.
It wiped libido/attraction to women/ morning erections/ dried my skin/cold numb genitals/ blunted emotions.
It remained like this for about 14 months with slight improvement.

Then after things improved slightly I hurt my foot and went on low dose codeine for a couple months and had the same crash as inositol after i stopped.

The only thing that brought me out of this crash was going on scrotal cream which initially made me better.

After a month on scrotal cream i seemed to crash again. It started with my skin drying up then libido taking a dip and ed creeping in.

Fast forward another couple months and being back on T-cyp 16.5 mg daily my skin has become progressively worse to the point im covered in painful eczema all over my body because of no moisture in my skin at all. My eyes are also dry and im feeling very cold all the time. Libido is almost non existent and genitals numb.
My current bloods

I know I keep posting here but im getting very desperate to find out what is wrong.

My labs above are almost identical to when i started trt when feeling great with high libido/oily skin/ confident etc.
I basically have developed a kind of post finasteride type situation and im extremely worried.

Any ideas as to whats going on with me please?

Thanks

I doubt inositol had anything to do with your issues.

Can you try some pregnenolone? Sometimes this helps a little with libido. At least with me. Try 25mg/day in the morning.

Something to try.

There is something going on with male libido. In a LOT of cases, TRT doesn’t fix it.

So let me ask these questions. Do you have a TRT doctor? If you do, what are they trying to do for you? You have so much going on, that you’re looking for answers in a TRT forum but unfortunately, the skin problems you’re experiencing are some kind of autoimmune issue, and the rest may be a cascade of depression and anxiety. All of these can lead to obsessing over things that we want answers for. These kinds of cases require medical intervention of which cannot be fixed via the internet. Call your doctors and start with the big problem. Libido and genitalia are not it.

Then it’s safe to say your issue isn’t hormonal, at least not the ones you’ve had checked. I feel for you, but you’ve got more going on than just TRT-related side effects. I’m guessing a lot is mental.

I’m telling you, do more iron testing cause low iron can cause dry skin, eczema and can make you cold. I would at least check iron saturation and iron.

It’s not unheard of for some people to be iron deficient at these ferritin levels, and have read most people who have iron issues never actually progress to anemia (iron deficiency without anemia) and is believed to more common than iron deficiency.

These side effects aren’t TRT related.

This. You need blood work by a family physician!!! Eczema not related to hormones!!
