I think my wife washes one day, then conditions the next day and repeats.

Hey, I only have 2 numbers-you have like a whole word of them. That shouldnbt be allowed, I hope humans dont make words out of numbers anytime soon.
Anyways, wash and condition everyday, but use more wash and less on conditioning in summer and wash normally/less with equal/more amounts of conditioning in the winter.
More and lesses depend on your levels of oil in your skin. So you should know if you have either dry, combination or oily skin.
I have shampoo. But my hair is short enough I just rub irish spring on my head. When My hair gets long enough that I have to comb it, then I get a haircut.
