"Gov. Christie today declared that New Jersey had veered to the edge of bankruptcy and ordered a broad array of state cuts in an effort to make up a $2.2 billion deficit in the current budget amid falling revenues.
Christie froze aid to more than 500 school districts and public colleges and universities, ordered the end to several state programs and the Office of Public Advocate, and seized unspent money across state government.
"Today, we come to terms with the fact that we cannot spend money on everything we want,‘’ Christie told a special joint session of the legislature. "The days of Alice in Wonderland budgeting in Trenton are over.‘’
Now, when all these states and cities begin declaring bankruptcy, when tax-and-spend and the funding of every lib cause is shown for what it truly is, how can Dems spin it so that it’s really the fault of greedy Republicans (esp Bush. Gotta get Bush in there somewhere.)?
They’ll find a way. It’s the nature of the party system itself that whatever is going wrong at the time is somehow the fault of “the others”. Finding ways to blame the other side will always take high priority, hopefully just not higher than fixing the shit.
Their (the Dems) mentality is to tax tax tax, this is clear in a very Democratic California legislature. It has gotten so bad, that we are fighting to get a “Part time Legislature” on the ballot this year. If we can get it, which looks like we will, the vote will win, people here are THAT pissed. It will mean that the Legislature is in office just barely over 2 months of the year, with a pay cut down to earning under 10k a year.
I bet we would be in War with Iran, and the wealthy would get another tax cut, boy would not our economy be screaming, Let’s just attacck the rest of the world and quit paying all taxes
I dont think its a democrat or republican issue, its a politician issue and theres lots of ruh-tard on both sides to go around. That being said, it is laudable to see someone grow a set and do what needs to be done, despite the pain.

We agree, as far as doing something most every state is doing the same things , I believe Washington did a tax increase as well as a healthy cut. It is tough times
