I am calling bullshit on this, Poor Clares the owners or EWTN have a convent in Alabama. There has to be more to this than that.
A convent is a religious house, pretty sure religious groups are exempt.

However, I did research it and cannot find a concrete law. It appears to be an urban legend, though a friend of mine who was a law student told this many years ago and I did take it to be truth for the obvious reason that a law student was telling me and would know, right?
I getcha, no worries. Although, I wouldn’t put it past good old 'bama to have such laws. Arizona has some ridiculous laws. There is a town up in N. Arizona that it’s still against the law for men to wear shorts.
America should enact a reverse version of the Muslim requirement to cover women up from head to toe. Cover men up completely and let women walk around naked.

/randomthought
I dunno about that…there are some women who should definitely be required to wear burkas…

Some women… all men.

This is why the government shouldn’t regulate marriage at all.

I’m honestly surprised there are people who want to deny them visitation rights.

While I do think homosexuality is a sin, I do not think any love a person has for another is bad. While the sexual desire for one another may be bad, surely the deep caring and valuing of another person isn’t. Why deny that part of the love?

Documentation is necessary, sorry. I’ve been in a coma, and would rather not have had every John Doe with a claim to knowing me being allowed in to hover over me. More recently, my family had to deal with a person outside of the family having access to my Grandfather in his sick bed. Pre-arranged visitation can/could be arranged without consideration of relationship. As in, even a best friend could be granted such. But if the proper id/documents aren’t presented, oh well. Go get 'em.
