In the american sense of home defense i guess i would use my 10 gauge remington semi auto or the combo rifle\semi auto 12… My police baton would actually do it though…

The problem with that is you have no idea what kind of a thief the person is. All you know is SOMEONE BROKE INTO YOUR HOME.
Are you seriously going to give him the benefit of the doubt that he MIGHT not be on shitloads of drugs and intent on killing you?
But maybe I’m just being paranoid. After all, people who break into other people’s homes are always nice and certainly always nonviolent.
If I lived in America i would certainly have a gun (probably more than one) to use for self defense.
However as I live in Australia, where gun ownership is illegal (unless you have a gun license, a rarity) I don’t think I really need one.
I have plenty of weapons in my room (a sword under my bed for example) that would be more than capable against a thief who would most likely be armed with a knife.
Personally I feel safer knowing that the chances are I will be facing off against a presumably weaker more poorly armed robber that one with a gun, even if I also had one.
Robbers rarely use guns in Australia due to the fact that the sound of a gun shot would alert pretty much everyone in the area, and because they’re simply so hard to get hold of.
I also like the fact that in Oz the winner of a confrontation would not be reliant on who has the better gun/ who shoots first. For some the old fashioned way still rules…

So american… You honestly dont need a 12 gauge shotgun to deal with thievs… They are thievs, not robbers… No wonder america got so many deaths by handguns every year…
Deaths by handgun because people leave the shotguns at home?
Well, i’ve lived there and its a big difference from having a shotgun at home and one locked and loaded behind a few doors here and there… But honestly, why are there so many freaking people killed in america?
Just look at your neighbor canada, more handguns per person, not even close to the amount of kills. Just saying, pair of brass knuckles or a nice little baton will do the trick…
PS: Got several guns at home myself, but i dont plan to use them if a burglar comes in my house…
I seriously doubt Canada has more handguns per person. There are many people killed by handguns in America by bad people. I’m a good guy. I’m not the problem.
You obviously dopn’t have a clue in this regard.
“OK”
Take a look at bowling for colombine for exact number of handguns… A lot more people hunt in canada, remember that… This is not countin illegal firearms ofcourse
I know all the stats inside out, beleiee me. I’ve been highly trained in gun self defense. I know the laws.
And I know you don’t know jack. Opinions aren’t knowing.

There are not more handguns per person in Canada, and if someone had one on that bus that kid might still be alive.
Handguns are quite rare in Canada, I believe there are more long guns per capita though.
Thought that counted as handgun, like i said earlier. My english isn’t perfect. I’m not trying to provoke anyone or make anyone mad or let their inner patriotic beast out. I am just saying there is a reason why so many people get killed in america and i really see that looking on this post. We get charged with manslaughter if i were to kill thief.
If you really think handguns are rifles or shotguns, you shouldn’t be dabeting this.

I’m just going to finish it all off right now. This was one post, one opinion. And you guys took it as i was attacking your homes… I guess i dont think about it that much, in all my life i havent ever heard of anyone needing a gun to kill drugged up killers breaking into their homes neither have i heard of drugged up killers killing anyone in their own homes. I guess it’s just different over here, thank god. I missunderstood the definition of handgun, in norway we have a word that goes wide over all guns that can be carried by hand, aka hand guns. Then we have pistols, rifles etc. So if i missunderstood one word which is not even in my native language, does that mean i dont know anything about weapons or home defense? Wouldnt i want to protect my own family if anything happend to them? Don’t i have a saying in the case?
All i said was this post was so american, i kinda got deja vu from being in highschool in wisc when everyone was talking about this shit.
THE END!

I have 3 Russian Specnaz dug in my front lawn.
They’ll beat the crap out of american pussy-ass marines
they have green berets for breakfast
and here’s the best part; they aren’t worried about bad bad people who are after YOU AND YOUR CHILDRENS BLOOD!!!
Ah those Americans, still such a young nation compared to those of Europe. They only have been fighting wars for some years and no wonder they are still a bit uncomfortable with it. I mean we have had Spaniards, Russians, Preussians, Ottomans, Nazis etc. raping our wives, massacring our men. A lot of europeans don’t understand where all the fuss is about!
Our culture is not as violent and paranoid as the American one has turned out. So the misunderstanding is a cultural difference.
btw Thanks for saving us '40-'45 and thanks for helping keeping the commies out
will never forget the favor mates!

Soccer sucks.
Just wondering, how do European dads protect their family from thugs like this?
Police continue to investigate brutal assault; more charges against the ambushing group are possible.
By JIM ADAMS, Star Tribune
A woman whose husband was severely beaten trying to protect his daughter from being molested as the family left Valleyfair said Tuesday they remain traumatized and are still healing from bruises and injuries.
Eight young men are accused of taking turns stomping on and kicking the head of the 41-year-old man, who was knocked unconscious as his wife and three daughters tried to help him. Prosecutors say more serious charges could be brought against the men if the man’s injuries are permanent…

No one has ever raped our women or massacred our men.
There’s a reason for that… call it our “paranoia” I guess.
And I’ll take that any day.

Paranoia combined with a 12 gauge, 45, or 357 is a wonderful thing.
Hedo is correct about the Glock 19. I keep mine along with my Surefire E2D flashlight on my dresser ready to go. It’s loaded with 115 gr. hollow points and is an excellent choice for home defense or concealed carry. I also keep my Winchester 1300 Defender loaded with 3 in. magnum 00 buck. I live alone and therefore don’t have the same issues as households with children. I don’t want to kill anyone but I’ve made the mental resolve to shoot at the moment of truth. Hesitation could be very costly.

Oh, did you mean spetsnaz?
I guess paranoia can be grown from actual experience.
Have you had a 38 snub nose pointed at your face as your mom frantically cleans out the cash drawer? I could have died that night for a little over $350
I was 14 at the time. It happened again 2 years ago, only this time with a S&W medium frame.
My family’s store is our lively hood. Its putting me and my siblings through school, pays the bills and was built through years of hard work and sacrifice. Immigrant family came to America with no education, no money and no understanding of English, I am proud of what my parents have done, but to see some idiot with a gun try to take that away from us…
Or not even guns…
Try calling 911 with bloody hands as the shop owner next next door is bleeding on the floor. Your one hand is trying to compress the wound and the other istrying to dial 3 simple numbers, but you can’t, the blood on your fingers won’t let you. Her kids were crying for their mom in the corner. 40 dollars was missing from the drawer.
My possessions, My time, My life. I worked too damn hard to EARN the things I have, and your going to take the easy way out and TAKE WHAT I HAVE EARNED?!?!
Do I check out things that go bump in the night? Yes. Because one day that bump is going to be something real and might be ready for it. My 9mm is 5 seconds away and the police are 10 minutes away. What if that robber decides that my TV, Car, Cash, Whatever isn’t enough and decides to prey upon my little sister? Could you live with that if it happened to you?
Oi! NateOrade!! it’s called football not soccer!, I don’t care what any american says we created it and the rest of the world calls it that. it’s football! what you know as football needs to be renamed because your foot hardly ever touches the ball in that sport. ggggrrrrrrrr!!!

Except the crushing hits and all the other action.
Plus you can actually do something while the game is on and only watch once the play starts.
