Please. Getting fucked up at a party and sleeping with a girl that night should never end up leading to 25 years to life just because she got home later and decided to cry rape even though none occurred.

All of this is 100% correct, however all of this does happen and we know it happens more often than it should. Hence if you want to make sure that it never happens to YOU then you walk away when

I dont mean to derail the thread, and I dont mean to get into a pissing match, but this article is unclear at best. Yes, it does cite one study as saying “the study found a false allegation rate of 50%.” But earlier it quotes another source “Fairstein quoted FBI statistics on unfounded claims of forcible rape. These reports, she wrote, occur at rates as high as 9%, compared to between 1.5% and 5% of reports submitted in all other criminal categories.”

That is quite the discrepancy and frankly, given that one was the FBI, and one was a study dealing with a sample set of less than 100 rape accusations, I tend to lean towards the 9% figure. That’s not to say the FBI stat should be taken at face value, and I find a discrepancy of 40% to be curious, but I would not be quite so ready to say that when a girl accuses a guy of rape it’s a coin flip whether she’s telling the truth or not

Final thought for all you to think about…

She committed a crime we all understand that. She filed a false police report. But she also placed the lives of 5 men in jeapordy - with reckless abandon. Don’t talk about suing her. She’s a college student. You can sue anyone you like, but without insurance coverage or assets, a judgment is meaningless and she has neither.

Is her crime limited to the false police report? I say no. Her crime is against any woman that is actually the victim of a sexual assault.

Next, we prosecute and sentence people all the time in the name of “deterrence” - so tha others won’t follow. What better case for the judicial system to throw around some deterrence? Lie about being raped, go to jail for 5 years. Period. Think the next ho lying about rape will think twice? You damn right she will.

The system owes these men and all potential victims of sexual crimes a prosecution in this case. She should do jail time. Once they start going to jail - watch that figure drop, whether it be 9% or 50% - watch it fall to nothing.

We really need an international committee of statistics. One that rejects all unsound studies. One that will only consider a statistic verified when it has been reproduced 10 times by 10 independent sources.
