He’s doing well. Been on the rig since last Saturday and he gets off the 20th. He’ll return home on the 23rd and we’re trying to do another meet-up in the DC area that week (460 calling 460).

That’s gonna be SOME party. LOL.
You coming?
Ha! Don’t tempt me, missey!
More seriously, I really wish I could. I’d love to get to meet you, and AC and I have some stuff in common which (along with his charming personality!) would make for a really nice time, I think. Plus, my US home is not so far from you guys…
Anyway, not to be I guess, at least until you all schedule a bash at a time when I happen to be back in the USA…
But thanks for thinking of me.
PS: That family member doing ok?

That would be so fun for sure!!!
Yes, she had to go back to the emergency room on Wednesday for a few hours but for the most part she’s healing well. Thank you so much for asking.
UPDATE: Talked to AC last night and he’s not going to be able to meet the DC peeps! he’s still in Louisiana and will only have about a week before he has to get back. He’s well and says HEY YA’LL. He will be in touch as soon as he gets back to shore!

So what you’re saying is that AC heard I couldn’t make it, and cancelled? :-)
I’m fucking BACK, peeps! I drove from Venice, LA back to Lafayette and headed to Bujo’s place (then we went out and got drunk, LOL). THANK YOU all for the kind words and well wishes. Working offshore is VERY interesting, to say the least! If I didn’t think it would bore you all, I would regale you with tales of blown up generators and helicopter rides, but suffice it to say, I learned A LOT in last 15 days!. Seriously. It was some cool shit - I kicked ass and took names. I also made a METRIC FUCK-TON of money! LMAO
So the plan is that I’m flying back to VA on Monday to see my kids for a week, and I have to be back here in time to be at the dock at 7 AM on Tuesday morning the 31st. After refining my schedule (and noting that Chushin won’t be available, THIS time), I can do LUNCH in Baltimore on Tuesday the 24th or Thursday the 26th. Given that Lew is heading out of town on Thursday, that will PROBABLY make it Tuesday that we’ll all meet up. Simpster, you can carpool with me if you meet me at Tyson’s. I’ll firm it up with you guys tomorrow on the phone. And anyone else who is in the Baltimore area, PM me if you wanna hang out. Meeting people from the 'Nation IRL is cool!
I’ll holla at y’all tomorrow, cuz I’m fucking tired and tipsy. Thanks again.
Glad you’re doing well, and because of my construction background, stories about your work would not be boring.
It must have been pleasant to find an employer who did not ask or did not discriminate against you. The “METRIC FUCK-TON of money” probably felt like a bonus.
AC- Im really happy youre hitting gold out there good for you. Youre journey is awesome to hear about, please keep us posted.
I also have a question for you if you ever get some time to answer, seems youre pretty damn busy lol.
While working a rig, whether it be inland or off-shore, do they staff paramedics? i have heard that they do, but I wasnt sure of the circumstances.I am a nationally licensed paramedic and was curious how they go about that?

I case you all don’t know, I’d just like to inform everyone that Pushharder is so fucking jealous of this type of shit. Haha
Really

Have fun with your kids and enjoy the time off!
Thanks! It was definitely an eyeopening experience. For example, did you know that practically the ENTIRE gulf shuts down at eleven AM so that they can watch the Young and the Restless? LMMFAO I shit you not. Grown, old, dirty, grisly, rough and tough men fighting for a spot in the “living quarters” to see whether or not Victor is going to get back with Nikki now that he’s out of jail. And DO NOT interrupt them during the show to ask ANY work related questions or get information. It’s fucking hilarious.

Thanks for the good reads all the time!

Thanks! I AM pretty damn busy, but decided to carve out some “T-time” into my schedule. I wish I had an answer to your question right now. Both of the production platforms I was on were less than 25 people, so I do not think that a paramedic was among them. But I’m sure there are medical staff on the rigs that have more people. But I’ll ask the question on my next hitch and get back to you about it.
Well Simpstr, Lew, BG and I met up yesterday for lunch up in Charm City. As usual, hilarity and good times ensued. I wish some of you other guys would have joined us!

Cool sounds good. Thanks man. Its not very important so dont really worry about it unless you happen to be talking to them lol. I was just curious because they always talk in class how there are other opportunities to use a medic license other than with a FD.
