Hillary Took Control Of The DNC Before A Contested Primary

9/11, Boston, Miami, San Bernardino, Fort Hood…

How have they affected speech here?

I don’t know. Probably more just based on a higher population. As of now, us white folk seem to be leading the way on domestic terrorism.

The fact that if someone in the public sphere were to ask the questions I’m asking he would be labeled an Islamophobe and racist. The fact that there are people who are afraid to criticize Islam because they might get killed for it. South Park has been censored for its depictions of Mohamed.

I’m not going to argue with you, because in large part you are correct.

I do have hope that most of these people can and will assimilate to the Western World, and at which point the religious dogma in contradiction to true (classic) liberal values will be ignored like most of Christianity’s.

Someone like Sam Harris being silenced and shunned via “you da racist” isn’t a good sign man. While there isn’t specific legislation, we’re one or two SCOTUS judges away from a perverted ruling that allows hate speech laws, because “white privilege” and all that shit.

No doubt, but there is a difference between crazy people, and rational people doing something for a cause as passionate and powerful as “God”.

Hitler wasn’t irrational at ALL. He was 100% rational, calculating and focused. That’s what made him so very evil.

Religion can be a hell of a drug, when you believe you’re going to heaven for killing innocents.

Didn’t Trump sign some order that gives religion more protections?

Don’t know.

Just that they didn’t have to provide birth control if they didn’t want to.

@countingbeans was pointing out we are one or two more sotomayors away from stupid court rulings like that.

Religious liberty executive order.

I think it goes further than that and sets the stage for going further than that.

There’s a reason why some of these mass shootings don’t get classified as terrorism as there isn’t an underlying political motive.

Okay, I see what you’re saying, but a lot of stuff is censored on TV both legally and at the discretion of the network. I don’t agree with that at all for the record.

I’m not familiar with this incident?

I’m not trying to compare the two.

However, blowing yourself up for allah seems like pretty irrational looney tunes behavior to me. I’m not all that familiar with the quran, though.

But it’s open season on Christianity. There’s a double standard with Islam one, because of justifiable physical fear and two, because of charges of racism.

And it’s that double standard which is hurting the Democrats. Hillary can call working class and poor whites deplorables but she would never say the same thing about poor blacks.

I mean, I don’t really see that, but to be honest I don’t really concern myself with how other people view Christianity.

I mean, again, I guess. I don’t really see that either. I’m not sure where you’re at, there are just so few Muslim’s here that it just doesn’t affect my life.

Ya, of course not, but that’s just politics and it’s fine with me because I’m not a democrat.

I wanted to come back to this. I don’t think it had anything really to do with Islam so much as it had to do with money. That’s speculation on my part, but I know Parker and Stone wanted him depicted in it and the network (Comedy Central I think) shut it down iirc.

Drawn together showed Muhammed and it was hilariously fucked up. (I think it was Drawn Together).

This is from Wiki:
In the week between the broadcasts of “200” and “201”, the website for the New York-based radical Muslim organization Revolution Muslim posted an entry that included a warning to creators Parker and Stone that they risked violent retribution for their depictions of Muhammad. The entry stated that they “will probably wind up like Theo van Gogh for airing this show.” Van Gogh was a filmmaker who was murdered by a man named Mohammed Bouyeri in 2004 for making a short documentary on violence against women in some Islamic societies. The posting provided the addresses to Comedy Central in New York and the production company in Los Angeles. The author of the post, Zachary Adam Chesser, said it was meant to serve as a warning to Parker and Stone, not a threat, and that providing the addresses was meant to give people the opportunity to protest.

The entry included audio clips of a sermon by al-Qaeda imam Anwar al-Awlaki calling for the assassination of anyone who has defamed Muhammad, saying, “Harming Allah and his messenger is a reason to encourage Muslims to kill whoever does that.”[15][16] Subsequently, the website for the organization was hacked, temporarily redirecting web traffic to images of Prophet Muhammad with a bomb on his head and an older Muslim man kissing a young boy passionately.[17]

Before “201” aired, the New York City Police Department increased security at the Comedy Central headquarters in direct response to the threats. Law enforcement officials said Revolution Muslim itself was “all talk” and had never engaged in any actual violence but they were concerned that the website post could inspire violence from others.

Harris was on Real Time with Bill Maher a couple years ago and Ben Affleck accused him of racism for Harris’s comments about Muslims…Affleck, apparently, was unaware that Muslim is not a race.

This is not correct, and part of the problem, Harris was critical of Islam. The idea that an ideology should be viewed as a race is seriously stupid.

If some of these guys aren’t “crazy”, they’re downright stupid. That asshat that ran down those bikers in NY had been planning that for a year. One year of planning and he manages to kill only eight people. You could probably take out more on subway train during rush hour with a hammer.
